I have a vsea and have to sit down on floor and hide under dash if it gets too bad i have boxes for anchors an ropes built in but it could be changed to bunks..i used to have cc it depends on what style of fishing your doing as to boat type

some of the trips last year for reds at broughton had us sitting next to shallow ground anchored up in twenty plus knots of noreaster as the arvo breeze kicked in..boat was buckin like a bitch goin up n down in huge chop but I wouldn't have missed it for the world...rick

land of the long white cloud and monster trout..not many that size in the new England..rick

il stand in my boat an fish all day in rain but hate wind..a good quality raincoat that keeps out all water makes for a better experience..same on rocks.. I keep half a cloth nappy in my pocket to dry hands...I have found from Newcastle north the rocks are generally granite and pebble base rock..the best and safest footwear for wet rocks are black soled grass sport shoes with lots of little studs...south of here sandstone ledges coated in slime n weed require plates or screws for safe grip...rick

I spent quite a few years running the deck on a 42 riv out of port stephens and gamefishing in general..most of the tiagras I seen kept in neoprene protection covers suffered corrosion problems...reels have to be completely dry then sprayed with silicone spray before being put in neoprene..i will never use them again.....simple cloth flour bags or liquor bags if you can afford it are the go...rick

hey cjay..since being on raider I have not only chatted with other raiders onsite but met some really great people.have fished with big neil and met up with others on water..hopefully soon to fish with and meet more raiders...I have been and still am on other sites but I always turn on raider first..the information and good will is above any site I have been involved with..any bad eggs are dropped in the bin..there is good humour and laughs amongst members and..there is a lot of people constantly learning from others myself included...good to see you are reading thru all aspects of topics and hope you have a great experience being a raider...rick

I would recommend cloth bags with draw strings..plastic or rubber retain moisture and promote corrosion..rick

twenty years ago I used to make poppers/stickbaits out of broomstick...drilled holes thru them twisted up s/steel wire right thru and tied in a swivel an a hook..didn't even paint them..kings and tailor loved em...hmm might go make some on the weekend...rick

hey turtletown of the thousands of salt/freshwater/marlin/tuna lures hanging on shop walls the majority of colours are designed to catch fisherman not fish....classic example; marlin lure ice cream yumyum colour..there is nothing in the ocean that looks like this but it catches fish because people put it in front of hungry fish..when contemplating lure purchases look at lures favoured and used by others for your target species;ie;look at fotos of captures and read what fishos recommend..hope this helps..rick

from a boat you are basically fishing in three knots of tide running livies either for jew near bottom or kings midwater and surface while tide is running..you have short window with nil current when tide changes..rick
