It's not hard to do the clears yourself. They may not look quite as professional but there is a big saving and they will still keep the water out.

Nothing stopping you jigging for kings in shallow water - I'm just say it might be a bit like hard work and unproductive. You might be better off using slow jigs in shallow water.

He's talking about jigging It's very hard work if they are not schooled up in good no's. This usually happens on the deep reefs like the Peak and the 12 mile.

The filter should have the fittings to hook up 2 separate intake lines. I think you will need inline on/off valves on each line so you don't draw from 2 lines at once.

It's a big bay. The electric might not get you back, especially against wind and waves.. I'd only get one if you needed it for fishing and yours is really not that style of boat. There is not much risk in anchoring up and waiting for the Coastguard to come and get you in enclosed waters.. I'd invest in a two way radio. Though by all means if it makes you more comfortable to be able to help yourself then invest in an auxiliary.

I'm not sure if an auxiliary is really necessary in that case. If you are going outside then it's worthwhile. As others have said go for 15 hp. You might make do with a 10 hp.

Not much they can do in the built out suburbs of Sydney. Most of the water comes from big dams outside their area, plus the desal plant. PS you mention population growth - why not then curb immigration? At present any water savings will be quickly back filling by mass immigration.

20 LB leader doesn't seem to put flathead off. The larger lures used will tend to rule out leader shy species like bream anyway. And I wouldn't want a 8lb leader if a big jewie grabbed my lure.

No need to hose rods and reels. Not actually a good idea for reels as it tends to drive water into the internals (well unless maybe if you use a mist setting). Under the shower or a spray bottle is gentler.

I'd use 20lb leader as any ligher will give serious risk of a big flathead fraying you off. About 10lb braid and a matching rod is about right, as bearing in mind some of the jig heads will be quite heavy and there is a chance of a jewfish or kingfish grabbing the lure.

As per my previous post as existing citizens we don't actually get anything out infrastructure spending required just to keep up with population growth. Ie it's costing us 10's of billions a year just to stand still.

But I think the elpto Mercury is just oil injected, so it just means you don't premix the fuel yourself and is old technology. In the Mercury you have to go to the Optimax for direct injection/ high tech.

Nothing to be wary about relative to a 4 stroke. It's a simpler technology with less to go wrong/ easier to fix, which makes it a good proposition second hand. It will be cheaper than an equivalent boat with a 4 stroke but it's hard to put a number on it given that there are so many variables in the boats on the market.

Yes wing nuts are a no - no, especially with the new high tech motors with computer management. Use nylock nuts to ensure a continuous electrical supply. I haven't seen those plug type arrangements on the RHS of the isolation switch before. Looks like they would be vulnerable to corrosion.

I think he said it was freshwater in the hull and the boat is being used in saltwater (or maybe that was the previous cases). In any event that would rule out leaking bungs.

A loop knot will signifcantly reduce the lines breaking strain so it is only of use if your leader is a lot stronger than your main line. This may not be feasable for some styles of fishing, eg luring for bream. I use snaps for larger lures which probably help with lure movement and action as well as making it much easier to change lures, of course.

That's what i mean - the only way they will cut immigration is for something disasterous like that to happen. PS: there aren't many votes in it eg look at all the polls on the subject or the lengths politicians go to hide and obsfucate what they are doing. I'm not sure about that - especially point 13. "Starts dismantling Australia’s world leading marine protection system" That's one of the good thing they did. If we must have marine parks at least they came up with something more pragmatic and that which fishermen can live with. And it's a very long bow to say that the LNP are resposible for the drought. Adding 1.4 miilion people to Sydney since Bob Carr said Sydney was full has more to do with water restrictions being needed. This is courtesy of the federal governments mass immigration program which the ALP and the Greens support.

I don't think flushing outboards is affected. But what worries me is that washing the boat is the same as washing a car. Ie you must use a bucket and not a hose with level 2 restrictions (at least from what I have heard). Good luck washing your trailer and brakes with a bucket. Also your clears which will be suceptable to sun damage if salt crystals are left on them.
