  1. What a holiday and some fantastic fishing there with brilliant pics!
  2. That was brilliant and methinks a few raiders will be booking a charter on that boat in the next year or two!!
  3. That's a Where's Wally shot! Hope they get bigger for you!
  4. Roberta, I was quite surprised to see a turtle 3-4kms up the river when the water was pretty murky. I would have tried to get a shot but I had a hit just after I spotted him. As for the jew, I am resigned to Murphy's law....the big fish on the lightest line
  5. Welcome and well done tight lines. Your perseverence certainly paid off for you!
  6. Onto the water before 6am to troll some livies around for the last hour of the runout. Scored a tailor of about 35cm out in the channel early and then headed to my hidey hole to troll some nice poddies around. Not much action for a half hour then whammo! Line is screaming of my lightest outfit...a good fifty metre run and I fell head shakes...had to be a good jew. Made two crucial mistakes.... 1. getting my other rods in whilst the loaded rod is back in the holderand 'ping' the line parts....Mistake 2. I had spooled on about 70-80m of gelspun to top up my reel the other day and the joining knot failed I sat silently fuming at the fact that it had hit my 4lb rod. trolling a livey and a lure back over the spot, I snagged up on something....the 70-80m of line with the hook attached. The fish must have spat the hook...I should have set the hooks in the first place!!! Anyway the tide had bottomed out and I picked up a few flatties over the flats and then saw a marine turtle bob up a metre in front of my yak ...he took one look and shot off...a turtle this far the Georges??? Next two hours were dead and picked up one more flatty on the way in. A few lessons learned today!
  7. Great work Christie on your smacking PB and bad luck on the lost monster! Hodgey those holiday cowboys will be back at work soon enough
  8. Great feed there and those flounder look in great condition!
  9. I'll bring the salt & pepper! Great couple of squidhunts there Mako!
  10. Man you are braining them everywhere!!
  11. Mako, You never seem to come home empty handed from WB! I haven't fished there for a couple of years but one question...what depth are you trolling in or do you vary the location and depth?
  12. Headed out to a different spot in the Georges at the leisurely hour of 9am. Good cloud cover made a late start promising. Had some nice poddies and started a drift only to find the dreaded fine brown weed fouling baits and sinkers. Moved upstream and nailed a nice flatty close to 60cm. Things went quiet as the tide peaked and I pedalled up a kilometre or two to the next bridge for a prospect...no joy here. On the drift back and as the tide picked up, I was being marauded by squid and as I brought my livies to the surface, I quickly switched bait for squid jig. I managed two little squid...not sure if they were arrows and at one stage, I had 2 squid figting over a mullet. Picked up another nice flatty in the mid 50s before the Soueaster picked up. I'm thinking next trip might be to just traget squid...they seem to be everywhere! I was tempted to take my little guy squidding landbased this arvo when the wind dropped off.
  13. Well done on persevering with the system, getting the squid and turning them into Jewies!
  14. That's a great Lud and it must have been a fair haul up a cliff with the whippy rod!
  15. Rooster, Can you imagine your first decent fish a 90cm king....you have spoilt your newbie mate big time. The bar is now very high for him ...what a great trip!
  16. Great report DGF and I also check the stomach contents of fish that I catch to see what was on the menu.
  17. That whiting must have gone like the clappers!
  18. What an album Ceph and I notice everyone in the pics has unusually long arms
  19. Great post and some top fish...well deserved and it's good to see a plan go down!
  20. Scored some cracking flatties ther iceman...top shelf!!!
