  1. Depends on the motor, but the differences are the drive shaft, shift shaft, water pump tube and the housing/leg itself, is it possible to build the transom up with a solid aluminium plate to extend it to long shaft? if possible, that would be the best option.
  2. Make an honest list of "must have" things like size, cabin, single axle trailer, tubing, family, fishing, tow vehicle, anything you can think of that you "must" have, then list the "would be nice" and sift through that list.
  3. I guess to be fair, (I have no idea what the offending posts were, or who posted them) but sometimes we say (type) things in jest, most take them that way, some get offended, in this day and age, it pays to be diligent with comments, what seems perfectly harmless at the time, can turn out quite offensive in the long run! This site is well moderated, and perhaps might be why it's still sound?
  4. It's not the height of the bow with bow riders, the fact that you are sitting right in the bow dictates you are going to get "bounced" way more than further back, they serve a purpose, like all boats, they are a compromise, you need to decide honestly what is important to have, then what is nice to have, then look for a boat that has the most features you consider important. Everyone wants a boat with space, speed, beds, kitchen, rod holders, hard top and open, seats, lounge and be able to tow it with a mini, but in reality, it's just not going to happen.
  5. Being lazy doesn't catch fish......a J hook is simply a standard hook, not a circle, suicides work OK.
  6. It's often pretty difficult to find transom damage, but look around bolts/screws, tilt the motor fully up, then lean on the gearbox, hard! and look for any sign of flexing, any soft spots in the floor, regardless of how small, or what the seller tells you, means trouble too. Depending on how old the boat is you're looking for, some were made without wood at all. Don't be fooled by "legendary brands", some of them are built cheap and nasty.
  7. I would use a standard J hook (and only one of them) and hold the rod and watch the float, that's the whole idea of a float, what size line is that it looks very thick?
  8. Yeah, know the band but couldn't see the "clue" that really made sense. After looking at your link I can see it now.
  9. Not too sure how the Thompson Twins works out.
  10. Bow riders are OK, until there is any chop, then anyone in the bow is going to get pounded! (And wet) Cuddy cabs are OK, a sort if compromise, protection from wind, maybe a couple of small bunks with storage, plenty of room to fish down the back. Aluminium or glass is a never ending debate, flip a coin on that one.
  11. Looks like one of those things that you find in Gemfish all the time.
  12. Yep, the picture was fixed in your first post by "little Flatty"
  13. As said a dozen times before, 50 signs and a $1,000 fine does nothing unless its Policed, and that will never happen, it might get a bit of a "blitz" but unless it's 24/7/365 days a year, people will just ignore signs, seminars, fines, fences, life jackets, advice and common sense! I hate to keep on about it and appear so negative, but, fact is fact, this particular place is not "normal"
  14. Scoop it up, use it for bait, can't see picture.
  15. There is always lots of funny obscure parties, almost all don't have a hope.
  16. The arrow could also be "one direction"

    Binge watching

Yeah, that's not bad, it was on free to air for a long time.
  18. Catalina was a good track, Oran Park was my favourite though, best spectator track by far.
  19. Pretty sure the door with a 7 on it is "something" other than just the Doors? and of course, the building is a "church"
  20. Yeah, might watch that as well, been a fan for a very long time now, sure do miss Oran Park though.

    Binge watching

Probably been done before, but a recent post got me thinking, what's everyone watched and enjoyed? "Yellowstone" is great, "Ozark" was good, not a fan of the latest, for a good wholesome family series, "Anne with an E" is good, "Snow Piercer" was good for an unusual concept, "Prison Break" is great, an oldie but a goodie "Designated Survivor" fantastic series, "Outer Banks" was good, but seemed to just finish without an end, "Animal Kingdom" is fantastic.
  22. Radio head, Police, guns & roses, salt and pepper, 4 tops, I thought we were going to just post one at a time, there is heaps more easy ones.
  23. Smashing pumpkins (I can see lots more)
  24. Not too fussed on the latest Ozark, it seems to have "gone off" lots of other good stuff to binge though.
