  1. good to see it at 40%! This was taken by a Local in April 2006 @ 0.1%...
  2. Great stuff CID, fish like that from small plastic craft are a real buz! Chris PS : my canoe is gone! but I'm looking at a Yak as a replacement
  3. I reckon a bass feels more powerful and takes longer to land, but the EP's seem a lot faster and take more drag on that first run, but then seems to come in easier.. just my opinion though Top fish all round and a nice treble!
  4. It's that frustration (and the odd mass dusting) that makes kings (and pigs for that matter) so addictive, its "fair" fishing, cause there is every chance that you will not win!
  5. yep smoked pepper is also a great colour! havent used pink though

    Pillies

You can quite easily get a 20 litre drum of fresh pilchards in under an hour (legally) in Sydney on a bait jig. they dont stay alive that well but it can be done.

    Pillies

You dont need a net to catch pillies and it certainly isn't illegal
  8. sounds like a seized or rusted bearing, has it been dropped in the salt?

    Voip

I'm the same Hooky, all my outbound calls are via voip, and the savings i have made allowed me to upgrade to an 8mb/s internet connection Chris
  10. try clark rubber for generic rubber seals, they are pretty good value most of the time. Chris
  11. yeah its common courtesy rather than rules that should apply! however the guy mentioned may have been breaking the law! "You must keep 30 metres from any person or anything in the water when you are travelling at 10 knots or more" Chris
  12. Love to know your squidding method if you care to share? cheers Chris
  13. saw the other topic, got off topic a little and locked, thought this may clear up the rules, a simple but clear statement from the Saltwater Fishing Handbook (2006) : Please note that although you may clean fish by gilling and gutting you must not alter the length of fish by filleting or removing the head until you are well away from the water. This rule does not apply at areas normally used for cleaning of fish (boat ramp cleaning tables) or if fish are for immediate consumption or immediate use as bait, or for fish that do not have a legal length. Chris
  14. Yellowfin have been caught in the harbour and other Sydney estuaries, quite a few years back there where Game Boats trolling South West Arm in Port Hacking there where that many Fin around! all of the weather features you mentioned plus plenty of bait would have to be around before expecting something exceptional like that to happen again though! I hope it does though
  15. some great fish there Bashir, looks like a bit of fun for ya through the winter
  16. Agreed that missing the odd flush will not hurt, I have a mate who runs a barge business and he has NEVER flushed one of his outboards for the above reasons, they are used so often that corrosion wouldnt be a problem.
  17. The Bridges are a good place to start at Woronora, or if you dont mind a bit of a drive, head over to Como Pleasure grounds, the bonus is that if the kids get bored with fishing, theres a park and a pool there!
  18. only 1 is me but i have plenty more bass shots, i just think those ones signify why i love going bass fishing, the stunning locations and wildlife.
  19. hmm some of those spots that bass fishing takes you...
  20. agree with all of the above. Im notin opposition to the parks themselves or the idea that we need to protect our environment, but the way in which these parks have come about and the not so scientific reasoning behind most closures. Chris
  21. you can walk around there yes (i have seen people walking that way from the boat), keep in mind that the beach closest to the headland there is a nudist one
