  8. i had the same problem, probably the same supplier, also in Tas! i shoud have said something, but then i always replace the trebles on my metals with straight shank Mustad singes anyway in saying that, the slices where as described and the guy is an asset to the ebay community! honest, reliable and contactable! cheers chris
  9. My all time favorite is my shogun light spin (6' & 1-2kg), with Laguna 2000 and 4lb line, landed salmon, rat kings, bass, lizrads, breambos, tailor etc on this rod, great fun! my new favorites are slightly heavier spin outfits, and have landed all the above, plus jews and more. rods : Berkley Dropshot 6'8" 3-5kg / Berkley Dropshot 7'2" 2-4kg reels : Shimano Symetre 2500 / Diawa Laguna 2500 line : 4lb, 6lb or 10lb fireline depending on the target and terrain Chris
  10. definatly go with the bream gear, top fun! As for Spots, Anywhere along the coast is worth a shot, South of Port Hacking has some nice water. cheers Chris

  13. pretty much anything i can get my hands on NSW fishing monthly and the annuals are a standout,Nafa's barra, bass and bream is useful and anything else depending on articles that month. cheers Chris
  14. :1clap: agreed. was the lab testing (as per recent magazine article) inconclusive? Cannot we use the existing tagged/stocking program in Sydney to help identify the survival rates of fish released after capture? Chris PS : dont pick the Shoalhaven, it has just been raped to the tune of somewhere between 9 and 50 tonnes....
  15. also might pay to let us know what species you want to target too, as a guide take a look at your UBD and look around an area you wish to fish, there are many parks and reserves that offer really good access to the river cheers Chris
  16. Nice one Evan, was a laugh watching you fight that second one on the light spin gear!! tops stuff!! Next Time a larger brown or a big blue for me too cheers Chris

    Lean Seat

I think Billfin has one for sale, not sure if it is a hornet one though?? did you try using your standard seat up there?
  18. Try these ones for lizards and Jews, as cheaper alternative that does work. ($4.95 per 10) TopCatch Prawn These are also made from a tougher plastic, that the tailor can bite all they want and they still stay together cheers Chris
  19. GDay Clutch I woud also suggest 3" Bass Minnows, and for your snapper go to a 4" Bass Minnow, Pearl Watermelon is my favorite colour. As for jigheads, try about a 3/8oz for the 4" in deeper water. cheers Chris
  20. gday mate I just got back from a week in Coffs, all the rivers are the colour of milo and still running hard, the beaches and rocks where just seeing some fish come back after the heavy rains and swells, but it may be better next week for ya! good luck, i hear that the belli river fishes well for bream and jew cheers Chris
  21. Fitzroy Falls dam holds a few trout and bass, but your options are limited as it only allows fishing from selected areas, and landbased... unfortunatly many of these areas are quite shallow and you rarely see fish. I have not landed a trout there, although did manage a few bass last summer. cheers Chris
  22. Domestics Domestics and more Domestics.... maybe a quick Pig session off the rocks on Sunday should the seas look better then. Then off to Coffs for the week, if it isnt rained out Chris
  23. Cmon Guys lets not harass the guy with talk of catch and release
  24. You cannot beat places like Sussex Inlet, Lake Conjola, Huskison etc etc etc, all within 2 hrs of Sydney, of course the further south you go the better it gets Narooma or Bermi would be my picks further south.
