On a serious note PJ Garn and i caught up with these guys over the weekend and can honestly say what a nice bunch of pepole they are, They are about suporting the things we love so i hope some of us can support them in return. Plus we just may learn somthing along the way. (ps is this the lady in the pink hat) Lata Raida. Waynie The Carpinator

Guys somtimes you just got to go to extremes. Now i'm a builder by trade but today i fished a carp comp and tomorrow you will find me down the Neapean. SWEET AS!!! Lata Raida. Waynie The Carpinator
  5. G'Day Raiders, What a great day was had. Went to manly dam to fish the Manly Dam Carp Classic with my good mate PJ Garn (the carpoligist) and my son Jimmy. Nice spot they got there hey, well the day started straight outa the blocks in a flurry of bites lost fish, a small bass landed, Then the first decent fish of the day to young jimmy and did he enjoy it. Nice little carp just his size. Meanwhile Mr Garn had garn for a walk and left me in charge of his rod, i've rebaited it and set it back out when zzzZZZZzzzZZZZ great fight on 3kg and a nice 7lb (sorry unmeasured)carp comes to the bank, Now who comes charging out of the bushes and grabs the net? you got it the Garn. Now can any of you tell me whos fish is this??? After that i caught some more small carp, micro bass and redfin which was enough to get me bigest carp and most carp caught (my first comp win). A big thanks to David Cleary and the team for a great comp, hope to see it bigger and better in the future. And on a finishing note given my recent carp success i shall also be know as THE CARPINATOR! Lata Raida. Waynie I'LL BE BACK

  12. Sweet As!, I'll bring my bike and i'll cook the bass for you. But on a serious note if they are in a flowing water way I'd release them too, but if you are talking about a stocked impoundment nothing wrong with a feed hey. Just stick to the bag limit and it's all good, bye the way they are nice to eat but those feral redfin are better. Lata Raida. Waynie
  13. G'DAY Raiders, Seeing as there was a bit or rain around and me being a tradie who can work in the rain, I decided to grab a rain coat and head down the weir for a bit of mullet fishin. Well it didn't take long for the sun to come out but did i feel guilty for not being at work NAH! First cast with bread under a float goes down a lift of the rod tip and and that magical sound of a screaming drag fills the air, after a short battle with a few great runs a nice mullet is at the bank but thats where things went pear shaped, as i had only just arrived my fold up landing net was still in my bag i tried to land the fish by hand, the hook came out and even though i got both hands to the fish it just popped out like a bar of soap. From there i proceded to lose fish after fish. The size 12 hooks where doing a great job of getting hook ups but these fish were big and fast. Most of the fish lost where due to the extra drag presure needed to stop em leaving the pool and heading down the rapids. Still i managed to land 5 ranging from 42-49cm (whats the Fish Raider record again) and i lost fish much bigger that were sighted but couldn't be stoped before the hook pulled. The steam train came in the form of a monster carp which picked up a weighted bread bait, and when he did it bolted. For any body familiar with the weir i was just past the pines below the fish way, when it took off it when straight out and started to turn right, towards the rapids! now i didn't think fish understood human but when i sreamed oh no you f^*#in don't!!! it straighted up and kept going all the way to the old fishway on the other side. The fish is now i recon over 100 meters away then the battle started he looked all the way accross the front of the weir for somwhere to bust me off before making a lst run for the rapids but i had the upper hand by now as he was starting to tire, he still gave me plenty as he neared the shallows but it was to be my day and came to my at this point very small looking landing net. 72cm WOOHOO! (whats the Fish Raider record again).Lucky for me a couple of fellas came over and took some pics with the last of my camera battery. Lata Raida. Waynie

  15. I don't want to open up a can of worms here but seen as there are cameras everywhere these days maybe they may be of some use (during day light hours) to weed out some of these hoons. Not taking away from what has happened here it is a sad event and my condolences go to all involed. I don't know this stretch of water and i don't want to jump to any conclusion about just how accidental this crash was. Lata Raidas Stay safe Waynie

  21. GEE IT'S BEEN A BIG DAY. Started off sleeping in and not hearing my brother knocking on the door at 4:15am. Luckily he was still keen to go for a fish when i rang him at 4:40 saying what happened to you Got going at 5:00 off to a new spot i hadn't tried before. First fish came at around 7am a nice brown hen for Davo his first trout and only bout his 4th or 5th lure caught fish. The lure of choice was a pink Tassie Devil which i only picked out for him for cast distance realy but to prove it was no fluke he landed his second trout a buck of nice size a bit over an hour later. With commitments at home we headed off at 10:30am, happy for davo even if i had'nt landed a fish. Opon arriving home my 5yo son was a bit disapointed he could'nt have gone. He must have been using the sad puppy dog eyes trick cause next thing i know i've promised to take him down the Nepean for a afternoon sesh. So off we go to Devlins lane (how do you guys that go there feel about the changes ) the target was to try to get a stinky carp fishing weighted bread baits. Bugger me he lands a small bass. A first for Jimmy only a small one but a bass all the same. It was to be the only fish for the afternoon so once again i go fishless, happy for Jim but my lack of success was starting to eat at me. So i'm now confused as to wether i've had a good day fishin or a bad one, beats workin so i'll go with good even if i've waited weeks for my doughnuts. Lata Raida. Waynie
