  7. Hey mate, welcome to fishraider. I don't fish in the sydney but have a look around for a place to go like paddlejumper. I can only recommend this website for any land based fisho's. It is just about water depth around the shoreline. https://www.navionics.com/aus/charts/ Good luck👍
  8. Hey mate im based in Newcastle and have never fished in the hunter river myself but know you get bream, flathead, the occasional bass far up enough and a jew nearer to the harbour. I liked looking at these clips on youtube. The first guy is good only has a couple of vids The second guy is also good, He is also bit further from maitland though. He is fishing fullerton cove. Good luck👍
  9. Well fishraiders, My dad and i have finally done it. Over the first week of lockdown we had transformed an old family tinny into a fishing machine. (hopefully.....) We started off giving it a clean out with our high pressure hose, and removing old stickers. After cleaning we painted the hull with black gloss spray paint. From there we used some marine timber from dads work to find out a perfect floor and carpet to use. This was all done over 3 days. The next stage of the build was putting the floor in and building a base for a front casting deck. we also built a little hatch up the front for a torch and the electrics for the front nav lights. We decided to build a box on the side to hold the battery and the electrics. This also included a dry hatch for marine books, keys, phone and other accessories. After we carpeted this box and put in the electrics we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Last friday we had an electrician come to the house to fix up some lights and dad asked him if he could do the marine electrics as he is a mates of dads and turns out he knew a thing or two about it and he did all the electrics for us! Basically, we finished this build on friday after a week of building. Thanks you all who helped with ideas from a post before and all who helped with the build. Here are some pics! Enjoy

  13. I think he might be talking about barotrauma, which in my case i have never caught anything in which had barotrauma but i believe that if you use a release weight or a release capsule that the fish has a good chance of survival. A report from the QLD government said " barotrauma is a potentially fatal condition" Hope this is what you were looking for👍

  23. Hey Fishraiders, lately i've been using willyweather to find my local tides and wind, but i have been given some dodgy information as in I go over to my local beach for a fish and it says its high tide but its clearly low. I was just wondering if anyone uses and other apps or devices to show their local tides.
