My newly aquired and iconic Haines Hunter 445F. Couldnt believe I found this boat. This is my second boat since being a fishraider and 4th boat since i got into it about 18 years ago I have modded the boat with a Furuno 620, Garmin 450, duel electric downriggers, custom stainless bait table and custom live well. Also what else makes this boat Special.... the 60 E-tec. Just fitted a massive 110 liter under console fuel tank 8 rod rocket launcher fitter to the sides of the console. The boat is now fitted with 18 rod holders.... Think i got a problem??? NAH!!!!!!!!!!!! All thats left now is a set of Outriggers!!!!!!!!! Bream one day Marlin the next.......
  4. A shark which attacked a navy diver in Sydney Harbour is believed to be a dangerous bull shark, a shark expert says. A navy diver is undergoing emergency surgery after being attacked by a shark at Woolloomooloo Bay, in Sydney's inner east, just before 7am (AEDT) on Wednesday. "If the injuries are severe, it's more likely to be a bull shark," shark expert John West from Taronga Zoo told AAP. "This time of year, there's a number of species of sharks which are in the harbour: wobbegong, Port Jackson, as well as more dangerous types such as the bull shark and the dusky shark. "Certainly, sharks occur in the harbour all year round. "The bull sharks are the most dangerous. But I don't know what sort of shark is involved or the circumstances." He said bull sharks could grow to up to three-and-a-half metres and Dusky Sharks up to two metres. A NSW ambulance spokesman said the 31-year-old man was taking part in a defence exercise at Woolloomooloo Bay when he was attacked, suffering severe injuries to his right hand and thigh. The attack happened near Garden Island Naval Base, a NSW Water police spokeswoman told AAP. The diver was rushed to nearby St Vincent's Hospital where a spokesman said the victim was undergoing surgery but he could not confirm his condition. "He's up in surgery at the moment," the spokesman told AAP. "The fact that he has been rushed into surgery indicates that it is quite serious." It is believed the diver was taking part in the Kondari Trial, a test of new technologies to protect ports and ships from terrorist attack, which began on Monday. A spokesman for the Defence Science and Technology Organisation said it was likely the trial would be cancelled on Wednesday. The last shark attack in Sydney Harbour was at Atol Bay, near Taronga Zoo, and the last fatal shark attack in the harbour occurred in 1963, Mr West said. Martha Hathaway was killed by a Bull Shark at Middle Harbour in 1963. A report on the likelihood of shark attacks in Sydney Harbour during the 2000 Olympic Games said the risk was infinitesimally small. However, the report, by Mr West and Dr John Paxton, research fellow at the Australian Museum, also said: "We recognise that in biology exceptions can occur and that it is never safe to say never".

    Makocraft?

Daryl. I tried the 560 and a few words... BANG BANG BANG. Try the quintrex or stacer if your after production tinny. There are some other good plate boat builders but the dollars are a lot more than a Makocraft. I have looked at everything over the last year and a bit. And i mean everything. I have decided to go smaller than i was looking in tin and to compromise on space and go back to glass due to getting a pounding and my back not being happy about it. Good luck with the search but if your looking at that budget new have a good look at the formosa and Tabs boats. All equal in finish quality but possibly better in chop???
  19. Josh, Those Slimeys at MH didnt take anything.. Trust me i tried. They were being chased by tailor so they werent in the feeding mood thats for sure.
  20. Josh, Saw you guys rock up at MH chasin bait. Nothing there so i moved on Qucik smart. Boban, Mate the smalest bait i had today and too boot it was dead pulled the bigest fish.. WTF???? Those early moring squid doesnt matter how scarce they are are worth every hour.
  21. I had been busting to get out on the harbour to chase these Oh So Elusive Kings i had been hearing about since new years. It was my first session back on the water since prior to Christmas and In desperate need of getting some King Blood on the deck. With all this i was up after little to no sleep at all and chasin squid in darkness Fishin Solo. Squid again were hard work at the usual Haunts in the dark. Averaged 1 per Hour. Daylight broke and the search for more bait continued and improved some what. Ended up with what i thought would be enough bait for the day in No Time at all. Armed with A tank full of healthy squid I hit my fav Kingy ground in search of a better class of fish than these 40cm mods that have been getting about. First bait down, 30 seconds later the rod buckles and starts pulling drag.... IM CHEERIN!!!!!!! This fish actually put up a fight!!!!!!! Fish landed after a bit of trouble and landing net falling appart. 74cm and fat as... WOOOO HOOO!!! First king for the year and its a keeper and fought well above its weight. OK bait goes down again... Bang i'm on again!!! this continued for most of the morning. Most of the fish were smack on 60cm. One took the bait before i even got a chance to lower the Downrigger bomb. With my final bait left i changed location. This got mauled by a 65cm little specimin, By this time it was raining so that was it for the day. All in all a heap of fun and a feed for me. If things continue like this its going to be an interesting social. See you all out there. Pic of the first fish for the day.
