with out that wire it wont work. its yellow i presume. The thin red wire will be connected to power all the time to maintain memory and the yellow will come on power when the radio is wanted (when your on the boat not when its sitting around waiting for you to take it out) you can always hook it up on a switch if your worried about not damaging the new wireing and connect straight to the batery. Use the fuse!!!!! hope it makes sence. Vince

I reckon its more than $800. Flight say $300 for 1 person, fuel to get to sydney $400, accomodation for at least a week in pubs or bacpackers at the most $300. Havent even eaten yet or droped a line in for that matter. Reckon for 2 guys to go up and do all that its $2k easy and anual leave for 7 days. HELP!!!!! someone i work with suggested train transport? any ideas?

Guys, I have found a boat that looks like it could be the one. Problem is that the bloody thing is in Cairns!! Its a 5.5meter boat and on a duel axle trailer, About 2.45 wide and length over all of about 7 meters. How can i get it transported to Sydney for as little as possible. I called for a quote today from a specialised marine transport company. $3500+GST!!! Any ideas on where to go next? Are there any things i should know about buying a boat and trailer from QLD then changing it over to NSW rego? or is this just straight forward? Your help, ideas and experiance and is much sought after. Vince

Check your earth. Well the ideal solution is to ensure that you run everything directly to the batery, No body earth in a boat. This will cause electrolosis and corrosion. Boats neutral should come from the batery. My 60 etec doesnt do that and have found the power to be very clean and have little interferance. Try all your connections, Ensure they are clean and TIGHT!!!! good luck
