  1. The river is starting to fire up,the rain we had hasn't affected it much.Theres 3 prawn trawliers working in front of my place now,a sure sign that the water is right even though when they start you can say good by to the fish. Not so bad though it just means I have to fish down the river a little further than usual. So it does not surprise me that you had a good fish at Wisemans, well done. Regards Jeff
  2. Hey Roberta, great read as normal. You should think about making a doco on fishing from a yak. I'm sure your experience & ease of writing would put some of the so called experts to shame. Regards Jeff
  3. Top read, now thats what fishing is all about. Hope you can download the rest of pics of your phone. Regards Jeff
  4. It depends on the size of the boat, under 8meters on both sides over that they usually put it across the back. How ever its really up to you what looks the best as their is no rule of thum on this. Regards Jeff
  5. Hi Jas, sounds like you got stitched on a similar one to me. I paid just over $5,000 for it and it's the biggest heap of s--t I have ever used. Stainless steel, great for leaving outdoors, except they put normal painted metal on the back. Great for roasting, put the hood down & watch your meat turn into burnt offering's, use the wok burner & wait until you run out of gas for it to get hot enough to drop the blue swimmers in so they don't think their having a warm bath I should have just gone & got a $300 dollar one from the nearest hardware & I dare say I would have had a better BBQ. Regards Jeff
  6. Hi, I launch my boat from there on occasions. How do you guy's go about getting a ticket when you go out early one morning & don't come back untill the following night? Last time I ended up with a fine, I had the ticket from the Saturday morning entry on my dash as stipulated, however you can't pay for 2 days in that pirate machine. My sons took the boat out a few weeks ago & came back & told me there was a bloody big rock in the water, I've never noticed it as I always launch at night & retrieve at night, is that the rock you guys are talking about? I guess I have been lucky not hitting it. Regards Jeff
  7. hey Fisher Jay, they say it's bad luck to change a boats name. As far as I know no one that changed their boats name has ever came back to let anyone know if they had good luck or bad luck. Regards Jeff
  8. Hi diesel, your mate did well short changed or not. Hope he didn't short change you on the pay off for the post. Regards Jeff
  9. Yep their right, sweet corn for burly & bait. Bread is a hit & miss afair. Don't use a sinker just throw your baited hook in with the burly & let them sink together. Regards Jeff
  10. Top fish Windon, Nice photo's, the creek your fishing in looks great. Thanks for saying which lure you caught the mullet on, I will go & get one today as theres a stack of big mullet around in the upper Hawkesburry at the moment & I'm sick of buying them for my crab traps. Regards Jeff
  11. Hi Brado, Don't give up on the area, like most spots on the Hawkesbury, Wisemans Ferry is not always firing but when it does it fishes just as well as other mixed bag spots. I've been fishing there on & of for the last 30 odd years & not much has changed. You have a great outing one day & not such a great one the next but either way it sure beats sitting at home or in the pub talking about how great it would be out fishing. Regards Jeff
  12. The 17th Hawkesbury Fishing Classic is on the 6/7/8th of November. Entrieshave to be in by the 23rd October or you will have to pay a late fee of $5. This is a great fishing comp that the whole family can enjoy. You can get entries from all over the Hawkesbury area. Regards Jeff
  13. It looks like a blind shark,it should have a couple of feelers out of its mouth if it is. The blind shark can be eaten, whether it is protected in NSW or not I'm not sure . But then again it is a real character so better to let them go. Regards Jeff
  14. Hi Raiders, Has anyone fished Weebs creek with any luck? I have fished it on a few occasions now without any luck.Tryed all types of bottom fishing, lures, poppers etc not even a touch The creek itself looks like it should hold good fish Regards Jeff
  15. Hi Baz, When you fish Dads Corner do the drift from the beach to the cave 1/2 hour either side of the tide for bream on peeled hawkesbury prawns. Theres plenty of under size ones & mega size eel's but there is also some great bream around the 1kg mark to be had. I landed 1 that went 1.35kg 2weeks ago & about 20 undersize ones but the 1 bruiser was worth the effort. Regards Jeff
  16. Their a good little fighter, great on light gear with no weight Jeff
