  1. The pvc pipes are agood idea, I think I will put a few in my trailcraft, but I don't think I will put one under a rod holder. Regards Jeff
  2. Their just like yakas to catch & die just as quick if you handle them befor putting into a aerated bait keeper. Did you salt them down befor putting into freezer as they tend to fall apart unless snap frozen. Regards Jeff
  3. Thats the beach Pete. I've never tryed for the worms there but have taken a few little crabs for bait off it at low tide. You have to be carefull though as the owner of that property is a bit touchy about landing a boat on his beach. I always believed that the land owners only had the right to the high water mark? Maybe a raider can shine a light on this for me. Regards Jeff
  4. Hey Dave I agree with Tobe, good idea to give a couple of fish to the neighbours especially the nosey ones as their more likely to know if any close neighbour is touching your boat & with any luck will tell you. Hope the rest of the year is good for you. Regards Jeff
  5. Thats a nice drummer daehee, pound for pound they equal to any other fish for their fighting ability, not to mention their eating qualities which are excellent. Regards Jeff
  6. Thats a top fish Jewie Jim, you should get your dad to fish the hawkesbury classic with you as a fish this size would make you the junior winner. Regards Jeff
  7. I fished a carp comp a few years ago at pittown & there were more carp brought in from the hawkesbury then any other comp I've fished. This was a charity comp & one of the ways they raised money on the day was to have a carp throwing comp. The line up to throw them stretched for about 150 meters & at 50cents a toss it generated good money for the charity. the carp were loaded into a tipper & taken away by a local mob to be turned into fertilizer. Regards Jeff
  8. Thats a mean looking cloud Andy, time to start the motor & head in if it was me. Saying that its also the time the fish come on the bite so maybe I'd stay for abit & like most of us would get drenched. Regards Jeff
  9. Hey Pete, next time you fish there try fishing from the little beach back upstream on a run in tide as close to the bank as you can get, we have to push of the side a number of times when doing this but its worth it as this area is where we catch big lizards. I don't know whether its the cows s..t falling into the water or not but what ever their after they seem to find it in close. Good luck. Jeff
  10. I've been catching these fish for years. When I lived at Bondi I caught stackes of them from Ben Buckler & a chinese family would come down & take all of them. They told me they were feeding there cats with them which I didn't really believe as I tryed one on my sisters cat & it wouldn't go near it. They were probably eating them like you & laughing at the stupid aussies who gave the wirras to them without trying different methods of cooking them. I'm talking about the late 60's so there was no internet to look up for receipes & fish raider was decades away. Regards Jeff
  11. I've always put a unweighted fish bait down under a feeding school whether it's salmon or taylor. My strike rate would be about 50% on hooking a better fish wating for scraps down deeper. Regards Jeff
  12. Hey Twin1, at least you were out on the water & not sitting in a hot tractor slashing with the air con on the blink. I'll swap for a day out on the water fish or no fish anytime. Regards Jeff
  13. Bloody hell, jaws 1,11 & 111 has nothing on this monster. Regards Jeff Hey Peter, these guys may look mean, but cold crushed for 2 days in the fridge they taste like lobster. Regards Jeff
  14. Good catch from a yak mate, I'll have to try it one day. I've never liked trev's to eat, how about a receipe for them so I can try them again & maybe add another keeper to my larder. Regards Jeff
  15. Top fish mate, sydney kings will have to get their finger out to make you forget those barra,s. I don't think you will find any lizards around the harbour like that one.Good pic's mate. Regards Jeff
  16. Sounds like a great session, some pic's would be good. Regards Jeff
  17. Good one Justin, the pic's are great, what sort of camera did you use as they are clear as. Regards Jeff
  18. Hi Squidy. nice result. The water temp is just about perfect, lets hope it keeps going up & we will hear more good catch's coming in. Regards Jeff
  19. Hi Jayson, if you fish about 100 meters out from Pearl beach with any fish bait its a great place to catch hammerheads. Watch the board riders scatter when you start pulling them up. Its quiet comical as they come out near you until they see what your catching. The salmon that you will most likely catch around lion island are a top bait sliced up fo these bruisers. Good luck. Jeff
  20. Hi Joel, I've fished the point, its mainly fishes of a night for nice bream in close with as little weight as you can use. be prepared to lose a lot of gear as there is plenty of snags. Fish the Watsons bay side towards the first boat bouy. The other side towards Lady Jane is only good of a day if you are into white pointres, as the beach is a nudist beach. Regards Jeff
  21. Hey Jason, there is nothing like the feeling you get when you do something yourself & it all goes right. Good on you mate, how about some snaps of the power house in flight? Regards Jeff
  22. Hey Tessa not only can you fish but you know how to hook your dad too. Great fish keep it up. Regards Jeff
  23. Hi Dan, awesom catch mate. As for the capitals, not only could I see your mega size fish, but I could read what you wrote without putting on my reading glasses. Well done all round. Regards Jeff
  24. Hey Slinky, anywhere there is a fishable stretch of water with a couple of good fishing mates is unbeatable. Where ever it may be. Regards Jeff
  25. Funny story Mondo. I bet you turn the bag inside out if it happens again. Regards Jeff
