thanks guys did some research at work and found some close to want i wanted a the tackle shop.... 60bucks it cost me due to panicing when i saw some kings

definetly got more hits on the squid for sure.... the sqiud we caught were abit big so had to cut them up to strips... but ive never used a whole squid yet so wonder how they would go?!?!?! Yakka's was jus hooked thru the mouth which gave us a few kings too...

howdie geoff i remember your boat and thanks it was long awaited fun for my mates and i. I think he was pisses off at me cause my first past at the marker got stuck onto his lure which ended up on my boat...hahaha thats what happens when you cast in front of a boat that is downrigging!!!! Yeah he meantion something about fisheries i thought he was flaming me so i jus gave the thumbs up and kept on with the fun.... Thanks for tellin me i feel much better that he got done for undersize fish...what a gronk! Yeah im fairly new to this site, only the last few weeks been hittin the water. Been meaning to slap a FR sticker on her but jus never got around to it.... One of the mods were meant to hit me back but i think they forgot. cheers, V

hey guys, been awhile since ive posted up something in the reports, due to the fact that ive been catchin nothing when fishing... Headed out to the harbour around 5am for some live bait. manage to land 2 decent squid with 10mins thought that would be enough cause i always waste so much time on squid. Jig around for some yakkas within 5 mins we had more then enough for the day. Trolled down south head and saw heaps of surface action (yakkas) so tried to work that area but nothin decent would take the DR or the lures after spendin a hr for nothin we kept trolling/dr down to bondi but no takers...Spotted some gulls working the area then saw some fish jumping about but dissppear when got close to them!!! gave up and went to north head for some luck Decided to DR a yakka at northhead within the 5mins ZzZZZZZZZZzzzz the sounds ive been waitin for so long to hear pulled up my first king on the DR it only went for 62cm but extremely happy cause of the endless hr of failing last year. Feeling great keep workin the area up to manly and landed 2 more rats. Seem to get quite so went back in side as the wind was pickin up abit so we worked one of the markers close by and god would you know we had so much action. 8 out of 10 pass we would land a king even tho they were rats it was good to know i was doin things right!!! landed 10kings all day and Took home the biggest king that went for 66cm for sashimi.... yummy Now for them mtr plus kings!!!!

hey raiders, Been awhile since ive posted something up, jus got back from working overseas for 6months!!! So im hangin for a decent day out on the water. Whats there to fish to the in the bay??? Also, should i be watchin out for certian black spots that i should stay clear from?? I been headin to maritime to get a map of this place jus to been sure my boat comes home with me when i finish my stay there. Are there any good baitin grounds eg YT or squid grounds i should been hittin??? IF anyone has any gps reading they could pass on that would be super?? most probably goin to fish inside as my crew and i are to scared to head out..

GOSH 18.5kg is a monster!! How do they fight compare to a king pound for pound??? Somones lost is another ones gain. I jus hope i gain it one day. haha

Ive brought a sony marine unit with matching speakers few yrs ago. Ive only had issue with the head unit had to get it sent back to sony twice and right now still having some problems with preset button tho it still reads the cd fine. Goin to send it back again to fix the problem in winter as i wont be usin the boat much then...The speakers sound great tho as ive tired gme and axis also but the sony sounds much better then those 2.

Ive also brought a SACRA anchor not to long ago as they are great anchors i still get the odd issue of not hooking up on the first go. Maybe its the lenght and thickness of my chain... as i use a electric winch and its recommend only 4mts or 6mm short link chain. Also i dont let it out steadily as i jus press a button and it jus falls to the bottom of the sea.. fast. But much better then the plough anchor i had. The release and recover slot works a treat as i found out on the weekend when i got the anchor stuck in something.

Kruzenvax, I am where you are in your DR expriences as i jus installed mine and took it for a test run in the bay on the weekend. Didnt take me to long to figure out how to use thing clip and dropping the bomber down. My problem is rigging up the bait (e.g squid) so it doesnt spin when trolling. I did see a differents when i was usin a hook that didnt have a off set and also hooked the bait a certin way. Slinky gave me a tip on a way not to make it spin but im not sure how to rig it up that way yet. I jus came back for another test run on the harbour but i didnt get any kings from this session but im sure gettin the hang of it. Maybe it was my bait or maybe there wasnt even kings in the arvo??? who knows but i have to keep on trying. Maybe nectic (pro in DR) can give us a few tips.

Slinky, yeah i cant picture what your saying... haha i have a geoff wilson baisc knots book but its not the one you meantion. Time to upgrade my knots book. I see from nectic's vidoes that he doesnt have a problem when he downriggers i guess thats the differents from a pro and a noob Jewgaffer, that sounds so right jewgaffer! even the day b4 mate was telling me fishing were feeding everywhere jus 1 differents in a day and the weather goin sour changes everything. Im jus waitin for that fish to pull me in the water. Kinda a dream of mine Im gettin ready to try a late fishin session on the harbour right now and see if i can learn abit more on the DR and land fish today or that nice fat king im dreamin of!

During my visit to the lcoal tackle store friday morning and was having a chatt to the owner asking him what he has been catching and he showed me a pic of a cobia from the bay it was about 60cm or so and pic was taken at night. Didnt ask any more cause i was so excited that you can catch that fish in our waters these days!! Jus thought i share that with yous

HAHA i feel great after a nap... 19hrs on the water..... Yeah it wasnt all that bad after especialy landed them little jewies. they seem to be bittin on the bottle of the run in tide. Had a few more bites but we were so tired from we jus had to give up and go home. Here are some pics. I should add that both were released to fight another day.

Well headed out to the bay to try my DR for the first time. Got out there and 12am with the weather not looking so great, windy with abit of rain comin down. Went around tryin to get some squid which got zero then tried for some yakkas with a big fat zero. Water and the windy was a b****t to fish with so went to the 3rd runway to seatle down till the morning. Lucky we brought some frozen squid, so chucked out a few lines hopping for a jewie. Got this mega run but got busted at channel marker thats was it till the morning. Soon as the sun came out we started to DR but really didnt know what i was doin at the start! started to get the hang out it and started to work things out but there was so much sea weed about it got caught on the bomber and the bait. Found out there was a problem that i wasnt expecting! When usin the squid it would spin and jus twist the braid till it was jus stuff!!! OMG..... How to make it not spin got me puzzled as i was tryin different ways of baiting it up and using different hooks... SOMEONE HELP ME PLS So pretty much got nothing all day not even a bream or a fatty using our light gear. After about 12hrs on fishing without landing nothing. Decieded to head to the bridges to see what we can get. Using squid gut we finally landed to small jews 1 at 51cm 2nd one was at 55cm and a 27cm bream. Pretty much a shocking day . Did anyone find it the same way on the bay today??

spongy Pm sented.. Well went down to the local store today and picked up 40 60 and 80lb jinkai leader.. Hopefully it will be tested with some big fish tomorow!!!
