  1. flightmanager thanks for sharing that with me. I keep that in mind when one day i move on to the efi motors.
  2. Ahhh i get it now. Will put this all in to pratice if this sickness of mine will go away for the weekend I only use the boat for fishing and jus the odd cruising around. Not really fuss on the speed i jus want to know what the motor is capable thats all. Not to say im wrong or right but wouldnt a 100hp carbi or efi motor still be the same at top end?? As they are rated at the 100hp from factory?? fuel consumption and respones out of the hole would be the only advantage over the 2 types?
  3. Ahh i seen that brand at the local store also made in japan. Came close to buyin a roll to try it out at one stage. I might give that a try since its easy to buy.
  4. Doin the maths wouldnt be that hard but the tacho on my boat doesnt seem to be reading right! every time i go out i always fill her up to full but the tacho would never read full bars the most would be about 4 bars which say its half full. So its hard to tell how much is left in the tank. Fuel computer from Navman sounds like a good idea but i dont own a navman..
  5. guys thanks for the info! Im gon to the tackle store tomorro and see what they sell. I seen surecatch in most stores but i always tend to stay awake from them... No bad expriences or anything i jus think the name sounds dodgy.. haha Might be worht a shot
  6. Not to long ago we brought a kingie home to sashimi for the first time and my god it tasted lovely. This topic jus makes my mouth water reading on the pepreration of kings.....
  7. Guys ive jus been readin the site on speeds of different boats and etc. And it seems to me that in boat seems abit slower then some others. I have a 5.3 alloy boat with a 100hp yammy carbi 04 model. On the water at full throttle im peaking at 5700rpm at 62kph at the highest ive seen or most times it would be sittin on 60kph. Does that sound right too anyone?? Recently i pulled out the floor boards and see how big that petrol tank was it calculate out to be 70ltrs (i hope i did my maths right). I wanna take the boat off shore soon but not sure how much kms i would get out a tank. Anyone willing to guesss on what the yammy could get on a 70lt tank???
  8. What a beautiful boat!!! Congratz on the purchase steve!
  9. wowster that is a ripper of a boat... Red makes you go faster in car terms. Should be the same in boat terms too.
  10. Hey raiders, Ive been struck with a ugly sickness and bored out of my brains at home so all i can do is thing about fishing. Ive jus intstalled my DR in my boat and i am thinking i would need some need beefer leaders to chase these hoodlums. Right now im jus using mono line Penn10x range. Ive got 6lb right up to 30lb Which i guess have do there job. But i know there is better out there. What brands do you guys use for the kings>> Im thinking buyyin a few rolls 40lb, 60lb and 80lb. That should cover what i need??? any suggestions raiders thanks

  14. So like something in this picture ?? From what ive read from member from this site is to have it sitting back 50cm from the DR it self.
  15. Hey guys, Im on the last leg of installing my DR in but all i need to do is drill for holes for the rod holders in the gunnel. Im not sure what position i should have them face. 1. straight back so the rod goes over the top of the DR??? 2. To the side on a sight angle facing back>???? What would work best for this set up??? thanks
  16. Nice coulpe of kingies there mate. You say a break in the weather??? Not where im at its pretty much been rainin all day here!!
  17. I think i have to agree with you there troutboy, as ive had this happen to my factory in the south west!! Stealing scum bags rip out the copper lines/fittings that run my bollier. We are guessing it was about 3 to 4kg worth of copper and selling to the scrap yard for probably $6 a kg.. HUGE profit for them i guess!!! for low lifes.
  18. This might sound funi to some but i had this idea of mine. I had this exprience t one time when i was fishing a all night/day but when it was around 10am i was so buggered that i had to close my eyes. My brother was sleeping during the night session and was waitin for some kings to hit our gear. All of sudden the one of the reels jus starts screaming off ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, i woke up so fast and jumped up and startin checking what has hit our bait and startin to fish again. If i could make a sound of a reel screaming off for my alarm clock i reckon i would wake up early for work most times! i thought it was a good idea......
  19. holly smokes i heard that the pain was bad but not that serious!!! I was told (different country) that if you get stung by a catfish you should cut of abit of his fins off and apply on the cut with it. Its not proven or anything but i surley be givin it a shot if i ever come across what happen to you!! It could help jus that slight bit. hope your feeling better right now
  20. Yeah still good work. Now the addiction start with the kingies!!!
  21. Plastic Man to the site. I must agree with you about beenin one of the best or beenin the best fishin site for fishing reports, information and jus general chat about fishing! Im kinda a noob to this site and keen as hell on catchin the kings and have learnt heaps in the last coulpe months from this site. Jus read it often and you will pick up heaps of info.
  22. Very nice catch indeed!!! good stuff
  23. I aslo havent had much success in the harbour with yakkas too. Slimmies are the way to go as ive had more action off them for sure. Try at cliffon gardens as i have got a few out of there not much tho.
  24. I think pittwater is different waters to the harbour But i had landed a heaps slimmies at waston bay one night but havnt been back since so im not sure if they frequent there. Tho i should meantion i had a good burley trail goin and usin full/half pillies on gang hooks.
