I agree with brett ive got much more fish with skirts then x-raps. But recently ive had alot of success with lively lures in mack bait colour which can by troll with the skirts as they have no bib. Try trolling a small slug for variety, with them 3 ive had a bad days fishing turned into a decent one.

mine is about 3yrs old and sure looks like it too... If you look carefuly you can see the end piece of the ezguide is missing which is the 2nd time it has came off..i think its due to the spilt pin thats holds it in place gets rusted and snaps off while retriving the boat... That part is about $20ish from ezguide which is the only place that you buy that item... That is a great idea captain i be doin that next time if i ever need to buy another one!

I know for a fact that Phu Quoc Island is a meka for squiding! I got relos out there that squid for a living. At night they got the big boats that go few kms offshore and have stacks of 1000w blubs that they use to draw the squid up and they use the typical el cheapo squid jigs to catch them. Btw i seen some decent fish out there too but all need big ponds in the middle of the water

ive got a pair of ezguides on my trailer. I had to adjust my boat futher back on trailer as you have mention the boat could go past the ezguides. From your picture it could JUST fit but to make sure move it back abit with out unbalancing your boat/trailer to much. And yes those brackets need to be grinded off cause they will get in the way. But once you get them on it makes life much easier when loading your boat on

hey steze ive been back to VN too as thats my motherland also . But i would be suprise that you could catch anything in there waterways as its probably fished out or to polluted. You can do well in the mega fish farms they have everywhere tho.

I caught my first stripey's this yr too by trollin slugs and skirts. I did notice when we gutted them they had very small white bait in there stomach so maybe if we downsize the slug we could of got a few more then what we did.

probably about 50mtrs off the shore line and crusie down south.

Quick report, was on the harbour on monday with a boat fill of woman... Had promise to take them out for a session after they graduated from uni. Picked up some yakkas at rose bay pretty fast then headed to so markers with no success then decieded to have a look out side the heads as the water was pretty flat. Bumped into a school jus off south head and bag 2 decent bonnies on the 15g slugs b4 they went under, im pretty sure i saw a few big salmon also. Troll down to diamond bay with out a hit b4 the girls got sea sick so i was forced to troll back inside and jus around the gap the little tekota goes off and a litte king comes up measure at 56cm. Starting to get tricky when the wind and the tide go oposite way so was on the way back to the ramp when i saw numerous groups of birds workin the water. I had trouble stayin with each school as they were gettin spooked so easy. Hooked up 5 times but only boated 3 tailors from 33 to 40cm. Saw some big yellow tails flick out of the water in a few of them schools! cheers, LH

Tell me about it ! I will probably hang these in my room for deco and use the cheaper ones i got as they dont hurt the wallet that much when the LJ are on the chew.

I can add that i wouldnt buy another sony marine unit from my experience. Had problems a few months down the track and was told that cause it gets close to saltwater thats why you got problems.... BUT sony marine speakers do the job very well!

A mate of mine jus brought a 2001 Quintex 510 with 70 2stroke (not 100% sure) for 15k. I havent seen it yet but hopefully in the next week.

I didnt fish the harbour but i was out at botany bay and i experience the same.... Trolled around cape banks for zip! I would imagine i would of got at least 1 bonnie tho i saw heaps of activity on the sounder... Did do some bait fishing and did end up with 2 decent PJ sharks 1 was over 1mtr but thats all she wrote when the wind picked up! water was very warm almost hiiting 24c on my screen.

I can share with you the disapointment of squiding. A fellow raider and i were out in the harbour at 1am friday till 7am and only got a fat cuttle and a tiny squid at the spit......and to let us down my live bait pump didnt work.... sums up the whole days fishing really.

I think its to do with the shackle sliding back and forth on the trip release mechanism when not screwed in tight which turns and comes free.

fishattracted, can i ask what style of chain and how long were you using?? I jus recently worked out my 4mtrs of chain was to light so i extended another 6mtrs and still dont get 100 % hook up on the first drop.

Ive got one which im not overly impress for the price you pay.

Is it me or are the YFT reports are lackin this season?? Is it no tuna or no one could be bothered to posted up some pics?? I wouldnt mind a crack for YFT this yr round but not point in goin out so far for nothing.
