  1. I dont know enough about guides so Ill wait and see how the rods perform when finished Ill have to have a closer look at your website
  2. Dave and Mottyman you have it pretty well the same as me except I would start with a 2gm squidgy ballhead and I would let it sit for about ten seconds before giving it the smallest of twitches this is when a fish generally hits it Any fish of size will hookup but you will feel plenty of small pecks which are small fish just let it sit there as the small fish activity will attract the bigger fish if they are around As a general rule I will use camos upriver and natural closer to the river mouth or in bays So far it has been very successful
  3. I love eating fish but like Ken fresh not frozen and growing up in QLD coral trout was my favorite followed by threadfin and blue salmon and some of the smaller lutjanids we used to catch like spanish flag hussar and moses perch Down here in sydney summer beach whiting winter we will chase some calamari keep the bodies for entree and use the tenticles to catch the main course of leatherjackets and another favorite is bream caught of the beach also flathead are good if I have to feed a whole tribe If we cant eat the fish within a couple of days it is very carefully handled and released
  4. They sound pretty good so far Saga For the UL blank a 2.5in foregrip and a 4in reargrip For the L blank a 2.5in foregrip and a 5in reargrip For the ML blank a 3in foregrip and a 6in reargrip I would use a 1000 or 1500 size reel on the UL and a 2000 on the L and a 2500 on the ML Line would be 2lb platypus braid or 4lb fireline on the UL 4lb fireline on the L and 6lb fireline on the ML In my opinion the UL and L blanks would make good flats or landbased rods due to their length maybe for later on you could develop a 6ft6in version of the UL blank also they are a bit too fast for HBs where a medium taper is a better option The UL blank I would use as a bream rod the L a flathead or bass rod and the ML large flathead and jewfish This is based on my experience only after more than ten years of fishing with soft plastics and I expect you will get a lot more good stuff from the rest of the fishraiders and I would like to help with the testing if needed

  7. Nothing to worry about The water pressure is spinning the water pump impellor which will slowly turn the prop The impellor was probably a little tight in the housing being a new motor so a little bit of use has freed it up

  16. That was fun Donna Are you going to run it everyday?
  17. I dont think 80lb braid is a problem but I would be more concerned with how heavy you set your drag fishing that poundage It sometimes doesnt matter what pound braid you are fishing but how you set your drag to suit the outfit you are fishing with for example I have a 6kg baitcaster outfit loaded with 10kg braid and the drag is set through the rod at 2kg works fine with some added drag pressure with the thumb when needed to turn a fish Hope this helps
