  1. That's the stuff dreams are made of. That fish is very dark however considering it came from the beach. Would be very interested in know what the bait was on this occasion? Well done
  2. Love your work. Well done
  3. Congrats mate well done. I like the fact you released your first one too. I plan on doing that one day when I get my 1st. Wish more people would catch and release, might make our lives a bit easier. Nath
  4. Yeah maybe you're right Jewhunter, hopefully one day when I return it will be my turn.
  5. Perhaps up North the Jewfish play by the rules. In Sydney you can try all the moon phases, tides, live or fresh baits and barometre pressures in any combination you like, doesn't mean you'll get one. As you point out your "chance" may increase if you do everything right or maybe it still won't work. I know this from experience. You certainly know alot more about me and most people about how to catch Jew that's certain, but I feel like I know alot about how not to catch them too. If that makes any sense.
  6. hehehe! this is vary familiar to me. Sounds like my story all over again. I tried everything as you mentioned but no matter what anyone says, in my opinion the single biggest key to Jew fishing must surely be LUCK. You need it big time and sounds as though you haven't got it either. Oh and don't think because you've put the time in that you'll get one or you deserve one. Doesn't work like that. Hope your luck changes and you get one soon. Nath
  7. I'll have a stab at a "Grass Whiting".
  8. That is really sad. I found him to be the best fishing presenter on tv. What a shame. Nathan

Couldn't agree more Frangkie. Everyone seems to only support Ponting and co when they're winning.

Yes the Aussies appear to be back on top. Interesting to see how these young guys handle their first Ashes series. Australia still should dominate but I feel it'll be a true test to see where they are at.
  12. Thought I would start up another cricket topic. What is your predictions for the up coming Ashes series. I'll start with 2-1 to the Aussies.

At the end of the day, all these guys are and were great players. There is alot of variables you could argue over who faced the best bowlers from which era. Some say the great fast bowlers like the West Indians. What about the greatest wicket taker of them all Murali. Wonder how the old greats would fare against him? You could go one all day about old vs new. I guess we can only judge Ponting's record when he retires.

Yeah Steve Waugh was a great cricketer that's for sure. I just wonder how he'd go with the current crop with no Warne and McGrath to come to the rescue. Yes I agree that Ponting made a mistake using those part timers. We all try to compare batsmen or captains. I spose the only way to get an accurate messure is from stats.I'm sure Ricky Ponting has faced some decent bowlers in 128 test and 215 innings.

exactly right luderick angler Pollock only played 23 test and 41 innings for his 60.97 Ponting has managed to play at the highest level for 128 test and an astonishing 215 innings and is still maintaining an average of 56.87. If Pollock had of managed to play for that long who knows what his average would have been. Could have been higher but as a general rule most averages come down over time due to form sumps etc.

Yes, statistically I would rate Ponting over those mentioned and by the time he retires so should you. He's just been voted equal best cricketer in Australia for the last season and that was a bad year by his standards. Your trying to tell me he's rubbish. Get a grip. Ponting would be one of the first picked in any test side in the world.

I can't beleive how many negative coments there are on our Australian captain Ricky Ponting. We're talking about a guy who could possibly go down as the greatest batsmen (behind sir Don) ever. My question to everyone is this. Give Steve Waugh or Taylor the current side and see what happens. It was ok for them two, if they got into trouble just through the ball to Warne and McGrath. They'll win it for us. Who has Ponting got to turn to who's even close to those two? Perhaps we should be supporting him not the other way around. Ponting can only work with what the selectors give him. Maybe the selector's positions should be closely looked at.

Has anyone thought maybe South Africa and India have good sides these days and we are in a rebuilding period. That doesn't make Ricky Ponting a bad captain or player. The big test to see where the Aussies are at is the Ashes this year. Could be a good series.

Ricky Ponting is an absolute gun mate. You just have to look at the blokes record to see that. I think Australia need some decent bowlers.
  20. Wel done mate, only us Jew fisherman understand what you've enjewered to achieve this spectical. I only hope I can do something similar one day. Nath
  21. Love your work mate. Well done after so long. I thought my couple of years playing the game was bad enough but 8yrs. Excellent. Nath
  22. Well done mate, that's all anyone can ask for.
