  11. hey raiders, went out friday arvo to have a looksy filled the live bait tank with timtams headed for the zoo the plan kings at the cable bump out go the liveys slow going first hit tailor bugger so we re rig the stingers with 80lb leader 1 tailor every 20 mins this is'nt what we came for but go with the flow after the 4th tailor i think bit early for a jew being 5.00pm but worth a throw out goes a full tailor minus his tail and backbone well that pritty much shut down the tailor bite after 2 hours off not much we headed home thinking well the kings must be feeding in the morrning sat 4.30 am got super yakkers waved the gamefishing boys goodluck headed for the gap picked up lunch in the way of 2 pan size bream and a dirty pike at watsons also out go the lures and a livey and we head south 2 hours for 1 bonito back in to the navey base for zip not even a pinky beside to try the hat zip on the sounder lets chase some birds and there were only a few picked up 2 slimys beween the heads on small lures headed home at 11.30 6 month ago this catch would have been okay but you have all spoilt me with boating fishing tecs. and now i need a fish that wont fit in the ice box to be truly content tomorrow i will be hiting the beam on bonito cubes see if that works may start at 2.00am hope some one in the harbor got some fish today good luck tomorrow gary

  13. penguin what a grin the boy has but as i see it every thing on the plate was fair bait were you chucking the prawn heads over the side i would like to see a report when the boy is using real bait great pics gary
  14. hey etty, this is how i see it as some one with an eng.background pressed al. the ribbs they press are for strength and glide in the water but more about strength[as most pressed boats are 3 mm or less in thickness] i'll call them ribs with out ribs the al would be very flimsy, they would also help to hold the hull true in fabrication and require less welding as the ribs stiffen the sections no end to some it up it is cheaper plate boats the al plate is thicker say 3mm to 5 mm on a 8 meter boat giving extra strenth in thinkness they would require a lot more welding and are a much stronger hull the plate sections have to be rolled and shaped . it takes a lot longer to fab a plate boat making it more expensive thats the way i see it hope this helps gary
  15. cool report rob.father son fishing golden memorys after 10 years off my kids[now 21,16]out fishing me ,i know the answer they do'nt fuel up the boat they do'nt touch the 2 stroke there hands do'nt smell like oil and fuel so next time you go fishing with the boy take a little sand and crush up 2 pillys and scubb your hand in the brew before you pick up a rod or bait that will at least put you on an even playing field with the kids but i suspect you like being out fished by your son lol loved the report good luck on the next trip gary
  16. try not to have a 10 hour break between shifts that way you will be on double time for 15 hours and may be entitiled to 8 hours stand down money as well hope you get out there soon gary

  23. hey yep,a boby cork or a balloon with be the go.hook through the back and use the back wash to get the livey off the rocks you would idealy like your bait about 2 meters off the bottom catch as many fish as possible[i mean do'nt just sit on the livey rod] the more bait fish you catch will atract bigger fish you can let the bait go at the end off the session if you hook a tailor[will hit surface lures and my fav,gar with 4 gang hooks]they will jump try to keep the fish in the water till your mate hooks one that way you may keep the fish there and on the chew tailor never travel alone.they make great jew bait and king bait if there not to big hope this helps gary
  24. are netic the sweet smell off the murk, not the advice netic has given you is golden and could save your life being the last person to be helly lifed out off there after a fall[broken rope] and not be charged for the ride i also had a mate fall at rosser gully[chain ladder broke] and had to carry him out no fish is worth your life.we took the risk and payed the price, very lucky wear still fishing if you must fish the rocks here are my rules 1;never fish alone 2;watch the swell for 20 mins before you start[we never went if it was over 1.5 meter swell] 3;when you hook up your mate watches the swell for you it's that 20 seconds you take your eyes off the swell that it will get you hope you hook up to a king, off the rocks what a rush. regards brickman
  25. the first live bait you catch put it out straight away often you will atract a bigger preditor while catching bait all the best brickman
