Little blue boat with 2 downriggers hanging off the back with 3 guys in the boat
Was chasing the warmer water we had 22degrees but found no fish just tons of bait
-
nice work mate you would of seen my hoon past you at some stage
we didnt have too much lucky today still was a nice day on the water
had a mates friend from germany in the boat so was good to show him around
-
looks like gorms is using a 200gm rapala braid concept rod
and john with a Xzoga ???
-
Fished wide off terrigal yesturday around one of the private fads we had water at 25 sadly no dollys there but we did manage to raise a small marlin
The warm stuff only arrived a few days ago so things should start to fire in the next few days

With the quality of the factory made rods I wouldn’t bother with custom rods unless it’s a big game rod
Stellas deserve quality rods stick it on some thing better then a broomstick
Smith,Jigging Master,Ripple fisher is the path I would be looking down
-
nice work some nice fish there
im fishing terrigal next week hopefully we run into some in the same size bracket
what jigs did the damage and in what colour
i find JM rockets in blue work best for me off terrigal
-
when flying jetstar within australia the max length is 1.9mtrs (6.3feet)
not 100% sure about international
i would be giving them a call to be sure
-
other advantages of the pankcake over the round bombs is these dont roll around on the floor
-
Sorry to be a noob but what does a pancake bomber look like?
they are called pancakes because compared to the traditional bombs these are as flat as a .......
-
tuff tackle
they make strong jig rods and bullet proof reels
i wouldn't call there reels bullet proof

JM powerspells are currently on sale
Match the stella to a 200gm powerspell for a beast of a outfit
PM me for shop info
-
Sounds like u high sticked the rod and broke it
If u tell the tackle shop that I dont think its going to be covered under warranty
If you ever want to see the rod put under pressure get the guy in the shop to do it that way if it breaks the shop gets it repaired
-
if your not sure what type of fish it is dont kill it throw it back
if you are unaware of the species your unaware of the size restrictions for it
-
Is there any gear provided all my jigging gear is light and I dont want to buy a heavy outfit as ill never use it here
-
Very tempting ive always wanted to fish with lance
Let me check my calender and count up my amount of holidays I have left at work
-
Correct me if im wrong but if you have a 50/200 transducer you can only switch between both but wont with 83/200 ( not 87 )you will need one or the other 50/200 or 83/200 if that makes sense
correct
sure u can change the settings in the HDS unit and trick it into thinking your have a 50/200 when its actually a 83/200 and it will display stuff on the screen
but its not usable data
its either one or the other
its why its very important u setup the transducer in the settings on your unit
if your dont your sounder wont be displaying the correct infomation
unless u do alot of offshore work the 83/200 is what you need

Check out the samaki range
There great jig sticks nice and light lots of power and its a australian company
But hey if u r sticking a stella on it fork out thd coin for a decent stick
Jigging master all the way some thing like a 200gm powerspell would be perfect or the 200gm three king special
If u cant afford then wait and save up
Buy a good rod once instead of buying 2 decent ones
-
Google samaki
Great rods,jigs,lures
Used them a number of times and there great
Guy who owns the company is from terrigal
-
Sounds great mate I havnt caught a decent king in almost 2 weeks
Be careful with the bleech tho dont get any on your seats or the kids
-
bleach works great
Gets rid of every thing just dont get it on your clothes
But for me I just got some astroturf and covered my floor
Out of sight out of mind ha
-
yeh ALOT of people dont setup the sounder correctly
ALL HDS users should watch
video and make sure they have there tranducer setup correctlyonce you have done this cycle thru your freq on the sounder and then you will no what transducer you have
cheers
btw
if you have your sounder on and your out of the water make sure you hit the STOP SONAR button as this turns off the transducer
you dont want to be running the tranny out of water as you could cause damage
on the 8-10 units this is one of the buttons on the bottom of the screen on the 7-5 i think it would be in the sonar menu some where
-
You could also just open up the fish finder screen then go and change the freq in the menu
But if you have not entered in the correct tranny into the settings you will find it displays all 3 ie 83/50/200
If yours does this you have not set the transducer type in the settings
-
Yep u will have two cables plugging inti the back of your unit one power and the other the tranny
On the tranny cable shoild be a little silver sticker with a model code
Google that code
-
im looking into doing the same thing
im told the decoy pluggin singles and the Gamakatsu Single Lure singles are the way to go
they have a inline eye so every thing runs nice and strait for better hooks ups
the use of the 2nd split ring is to allow the hook to swing more
i dont think its needed with the inline hooks tho

i would be taking it back to the shop and ask for a new one
if it was like that out of the box i wouldn't let them service it i would demand a new one
better yet trade it in for a shimano
