  1. Poor bloke,

Doesnt really matter if he has insurance or not still not a nice thing to happen to anyone,

and it was probably a honest mistake anyway, thats why I always take as much care as possible at the ramp

could you imagine how this guy must have felt???? good on the by standers there that lent a helping hand!!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  2. Well done on the Kingies,

Nice to see a plan come together,

The Kings look like the next thing on my hit list, as there seems to be more and more reports.

Probably not a bad idea releasing it as you cant risk it hopefully its good karma for you,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  3. Your idea sounds good in theory but I honestly believe with-out encorcement we will not get very far at all,

most of these people would not even bother reading the signs, by all means please correct me if you think I am wrong,

maybe we could write up a letter and pass it onto canada bay council and see if they can have some sort of night patrol or some sort of enformement,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  4. Thanks beginner for the link did not know how to attach the link to post.i know it is only a few that wreck it for others that do the right thing but how many times do you go to a location and it looks like a tip even though there is bins neadby or at the location and rubbish still gets dumped on the ground or in the water

You know one of the things that really bothers me on top of this,

its people that after fishing have left over bait and leave it on the pier they cant even throw the bait into the water!!!!

I get upset just thinking about it, it almost turns me off fishing because if you are not careful you could either step on or sit on left over bait,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  5. Honestly, I was expecting this to happen eventually,

The problem is that most of us do the right thing but its the handfull that dont care that are spoiling it for the rest of us,

All we can do is lead by example and continue to do the right thing and eventually only hope that the people that do the wrong thing get caught out,

Its sad to see this happenning but I can understand why they have to do things like this,

as you mentioned hopefully this is treated like a wake up call for the people that dont care!!!! to start caring!!!!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  6. Id be trying closer to the Harbour around Balmain, I had alot of sucess around Jeffereys street Wharf but have not been there for a long time as a matter of fact I haven't gone squiddin for almost a year now,

definately get out there and keep trying and soon enough the squid will come, I would wait a couple of weeks as the rain freshens up the river and the squid head to more saltier water,

    Good Luck with it,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  7. any of the wharves from gladesville up is worth a try just dont bother squidding unless it has not rained for a few weeks,

I have seen people catching squid as far up the river as kissing point wharf,

Where have you tried so far??

    Good luck with it,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  8. How serious are you about getting into plastics?

And yes Narrabeen Lake is a good place to start and Flatties will be the main species followed by flounder and possibly bream,

as for your setup you will get away with fibreglass but remember when you try to work the lure there will be a delay as the fibreglass rods are flimsy where-as a graphite rod is stiff so as you move your rod it will move the lure.

try to keep your weight as light as possible to start i would probably try using 3-4" Minnow Grups pumpkinseed is a favourite amoughst most plastic fishos.

they are shaped like a tadpole and you do not have to work them too hard as the tail will do most of the work for you when you are retrieving.

I have not fished plastics for a while but as far as weight is concerned id try to stick with as light as possible but come prepared with a few different weight's and adjust according to conditions and you will be fine.

    how heavy is your line???

Ill try to help as much as I can so if you want send me a pm and ill try answer as much as I can,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  9. Nice Flattie Stewie,

I hate people like that, but good on you for standing up for yourself as you were doing nothing wrong!!!!

its a shame about the lack of Bream, as I remember around this time last year you were cleaning up on the blades,

don't worry mate you will find the bream and when you do they will be in big trouble

    Regards,

    Nathan

  10. Dan & Greg,

I am sure greg had very sore arms at the end of the session!!!!

thats a mighty fine effort I wish I could have sessions like that but its not going to happen unless I get out there too!!!

hopefully in a few weeks ill be out on the water trying to catch a king too!!!!

    Regards,

    Nathan

  11. While were talking Symetre My 4000 handled a decent sized ray and I have also heard they can handle Kings also.

In saying that the lower class reels will take a beating also just depends on the angler and of course where you are fighting the fish as if there is alot of structure around i.e rocks snags etc its just skills and luck.

anyhow I stick to what I said about a great workhorse reel for a great price as I dont really want to go off topic.

Good luck in your reel shopping,

    Regards,

    Nathan

  12. I have a stradic on my T-curve and love it but you could even get a shimano symetre which is a great little workhorse and they arnt expensive either I bought a 4000 for around the 150 mark so a 1000 -2000 series would not be much at all.

I have heard the abu soron's are great also just depends on which brand you want, all reels mentioned so far will do what you want,

    regards,

    Nathan
