Japanese sizing thing they call "PE"

I came across some Japanese reels and got confused with their line sizes capabilities call PE, I made a good search and was hard to get a good understanding of their breaking point but I found this little chart that I thought it will be handy for someone else having the same problem

My understanding but feel free to correct me is PE refers to the line diameter and therefore a more accurate estimate of the amount of line you will fit on the reel however like mono the breaking strain will vary from brand to brand depending on quality. I know there are people here with a better understanding so looking forward to more detail.

I thought PE stood for Poly-Ethylene, being the material the braid was made of?

Correct the Japanese use the line diameter as a reference instead, I guess it depends of the braid quality the strength will change as well, I found this great page that explains a bit more and gives a better understanding (Click Here for the page)
