JonD
Was good to get back in the boat for a short session. Plenty of rats and once again the lightest outfit on the boat takes the biggest king. Only the one keeper out of 30-40 fish but that's all we ever need anyway. It's funny that even though we are catching fish speed jigging and using surface lures it's the slow lazy old dad jigging style that is producing the most and biggest fish. Even managed to insurance on the house, which is a relief with things the way they are at the moment. Edited January 7, 2020 by JonD

It's an Oceans Legacy Origin spin, they were about the same price as gomoko rods but seemed far better in build and looks. Picked mine up for $250, it's the lightest version which might be a little to light for most people.

She was meant to do an interview today with the abc on some mass fish kills since the covering of ash. Even our local ramp has dead flathead and seagulls starting to stink the area out. Several lakes have had total fish whipe outs in just two days. Over 90 flathead to over 1m and hundreds of bream littler the banks of an area two days prior she was enjoying a good day of catch and release. She's out jewy fishing now and back on the charters tomorrow thankfully ( way to much energy to have her at home ).
