Fab1
What size circles are you guys using for bream, whiting, flathead? I will get some and try with them next time I'm out since I don't have much luck using j hooks in hope they'll hook themselves.
Bluebenbomb
Hi @Fab1, I prefer using a 1/0 circle hook. Works well for bream especially.

slothparade
My mate uses these size 1 tint gauge Japanese circle hooks. Not sure of the brand but they're a gold colour probably about a mill or 2 thick so extremely small gauge They look very similar to this but a bit more white on the packaging. I'll ask him exactly what they are. You have to get them at a specialist tackle store.
Pafisho08
HI I have tried a few brands in the past and now use only Owner 5114 light circles sizes 1/0 & 3/0 depending on the bait size used . Wind in but don't strike Rgds Bob Edited February 22, 2022 by Pafisho08 spacing

Rebel
Size 2/0 long shank or 4/0. Never had any luck with circles. Cheers.
Isaac Ct
I use size 1/0 for bream but I use long shank for whiting. I will usually use a size 2/0 circle when using live poddy mullet for flathead.
