  1. Well done on a nice first croc of the season. Greedy bugger wanted live bait Not lures Well done on her release Chris.
  2. All you need to do is put the lures out in an area you choose to troll and sit back and enjoy the wonderful waiting game. If the fish are there you will hook up Love trolling you never know what to expect ,GOODLUCK Chris.
  3. Good to see the boat ramp open again , must of just opened , was closed couple of weeks back. Can,t wait to go down and have a fish , hope they leave the light on for longer for catching squid.
  4. Didn't do much better than you on my last night trip either. Fished the drop over at main channel near south west arm and only managed to bag four keeper snapper. They also were caught on squid one taking a whole squid on the sleeper rod. Looking forward to the coming weeks mate when the water warms up and the fish start coming on more consistant. Chris.
  5. Hi Raiders Here's a great little recipe to make squid into an enjoyable meal. Squid turns out very tender and very simple to prepare. Ingredients 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 onions finely chopped 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 clove garlic, finely minced 2 medium size squid 1/4 cup bread crumbs 2 tomatoes, finely chopped 2 teaspoon lemon zest 2 teaspoon ginger Chopped fresh parsley Ground black pepper to taste 1 jar Leggo's tomato paste (Calabrese, Chunky Pasta Sauce with Capsicum, mushroom & herbs) 1 cup water Method: Heat the olive oil in a medium pan until simmering. Add the onions and salt and cook until the onions turn translucent, about 1 to 2 minutes. Do not brown. Add the garlic and continue to cook for another minute. Set aside to cool. Clean the squid thoroughly and remove the heads from the tentacles. Discard heads (or keep for bait). Turn the tubes inside out (since the outside skin tends to curl outward, it'll hold the stuffing better inside out), put into a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use. Place the tentacles into a food processor and process until there are no large pieces visible. Do not process until smooth. Transfer to mixing bowl along with onions and garlic. Add the bread crumbs, tomato, lemon zest, ginger, parsley and pepper. Stir to combine well. Place mixture into squid tubes, dividing the mixture evenly between them. Do not over-stuff. Place the tubes into a baking dish and cover with tomato sauce, also add a bit of water. Cover tightly with aluminium foil and bake for 30 minutes. Serve on a bed of rice. Enjoy Chris
  6. Alot of people are un insured these days , great to see your insurance has rectified everything smoothly. Well worth having in my books , even if you never make a claim you can sleep at night. Chris.
  7. Just my opinion i,m using shell nautilas and have no issues motor wise for many years Maintenance , TUNING regular GEARBOX OIL CHANGES , MAINTENANCE are important for long life. XD 100 for the e-tec motors is manufactured to provide alot more lubrication as they go through alot less oil than older engines burn and need that lubricant factor. I think a good quality oil is more than adequate for older engines mixed with quality fuel optimax etc. chris.
