  1. I’m sure Jon. BTW I also left Club Marine many years back. Cheers Z
  2. That’s exactly what Lay Up Cover provides at a lower rate as the boat is not being used on water or towed.
  3. Hey Raiders, Many of us are stuck in lockdown separated from our friends and loved ones. Many of us reside in LGAs that are nowhere near water and our favourite pass-times. It's easy to fall into frustration, depression and anger with authorities and the current situation. These are trying times. But, I was listening to the radio the other morning and happened to hear Ben Fordham's comments about the current pandemic. I think he really brings home some perspective to what we are facing, compared to the last similar pandemic back in 1918 - the spanish flu. Our earlier generations faced this threat not that far back. They faced it with so much less than we have today. I feel Ben's comments certainly add some valuable Perspective to this Pandemic. I have reproduced below the 4min audio. Have a listen over a cuppa and let me know what you think. Cheers Zoran
  4. Yup. Always conditions with insurance. The NRMA ones are not too onerous - in fact pretty much standard procedure for my boat between trips. cheers Z
  5. Excellent point Fab. Are you going to contact Service NSW ? cheers Zoran
  6. Hey Raiders, My boat insurance was due for renewal. As I was finalising my review of the policy I remembered there was a LAY UP option, so I called in and had them run a few scenarios. They offer 5% off the policy premium for each month of layup (max 6mths). Given we are in Lockdown and unable to use the boat for Sept and most likely October, I nominated both of those months for now and saved 10%. I can call in and nominate additional months or pay a small amount for the months I take off lay up if the restrictions ease. Anyway, just thought that I'd share. No point paying for insurance that we can't use. Cheers Zoran
  7. Love DIY. They look great. Now just for the restrictions to lift. cheers Zoran
  8. Frank, if you have gas to the house already an instant gas hot water system is the most economical. Switch over cost from electric to gas was almost equal to installing a replacement electric unit in my experience. cheers Zoran
  9. I can recommend @61 crusher (Dieter) as a plumber! Not a bad fisho either 🤣 cheers Zoran
  10. Thanks Jason. No problems. I'm just following the official government communication from different countries. And yes I agree they are usually IT related issues ... or implementations that reflect current policy. Cheers Zoran
  11. I’m very interested in what you find Donna. I had a contraindication after my first AZ in June and it looks like I’ll be getting a Pf next. Many countries are using a mixed approach and accepting it as full immunization (Canada, Germany, UK, Spain…). Some are even recommending it. cheers Zoran
  12. I recall reading about one such incident involving two brothers and one’s wife. The shark bit the bow and took out a chunk. All survived but the three were in the water for hours with the shark circling. But from m memory that involved a tiger shark estimated to be around 6m. BTW, top catch above. Lots of good eating there. cheers Zoran
  13. Now that’s a bloody good offshore report. Thanks for sharing. Needed this so much as I look out over my polished boy in the driveway! One day…..soon. cheers and thanks Zoran
  14. I’m with @Rebelon this one. I’m still conquering offshore with my Haines 635 (pre covid)… purchased in 1996. If you install things properly (preserve the water proof barrier) and look after them in general … they will look after you. cheers Zoran
  15. Thanks for posting Donna. They shouldn’t have been there pure and simple. We all want to fish, we all have to do the right thing at this time. It amazes me why they should consider themselves above it all. cheers Zoran
  16. Looking at the way it will swing .... I don’t think you need to cut the top left one. 18v Ryobi grinder fitted with flexOvit multi material 1mm cut off wheel will slice through the 3 circled bolts like butter. It looks like the nuts are gal nylocs - so cut through the bolts a section at a time so that they do not over heat (glow red) and destroy the nyloc plastic bush. If you are somewhat careful you wont damage the thread to the point that you will not be able to remove the nuts - if that is ever required in the future. But you will probably have to chamfer the threads as @wrxhoon1 has recommended to get the nuts back on. cheers Zoran (not the Byron Bay one)
  17. Angle grinder - Cut them down. Dab of zinc gal 👌 cheers Zoran
  18. Living the dream! …… bugger. cheers Zoran
  19. If I just focus on the greater than 14m depth part of BN’s question rather then where the fish was hooked (gut, gills)- I think it depends on the type of fish. Some fish like sharks, kings, and other pelagics hunt the entire water column. They will easily strike from greater than 14m depth and return - their bodies are built to cope with the rapid changes in pressure. Also fish that are bottom dwellers like rays and even Flathead- have very small or non existent air bladders. I’ve released or lost many at the surface after pulling them up from 60-100m and they swim away powerfully. On the other hand fish like snapper, mowies and bream come to the surface belly up - they have well defined large air ladders and have trouble decompressing quickly. So my conclusion is it depends on the species. cheers Zoran
  20. Awesome fish mate thanks for sharing. BTW what’s that shiny clear blue stuff all around you? I vaguely remember it. cheers Zoran
  21. Another test you can try is to swap the plugs around. Put the lower left clean plug into another cyl and run the motor. If it comes out like the other 3 now you know that plug is working and your issue is with the lower left cyl, it’s fuel/oil supply or electricals (coil, cable etc).
  22. Good on ya @Yowie. Nice catch and feed ... would be great just to be able to smell the salty air ... ahhh memories. Cheers Zoran
  23. Yup it works … even on this forum - pretty sure you’ll get a decent bite soon 😉 The @Yowie-fish strike hard and put up a good tussle. But they’re also known to flap around a bit and become skittish if boats get too close so let me put out some more burley - plasTic, PLastiC, PLAStic, p-l-a-s-t-i-c…. There, that should do it …. Tight lines 🤪 Zoran😇
  24. Ahhh. The stuff dreams are made off. Top job. cheers Zoran
  25. That’s because it was only a short trip - didn’t need everything. cheers Zoran
