Yup its all about the thrust developed to get you up on a plane. Sounds as if you're happy with the new prop performance with a load on board. Thats a great outcome. Personally I would keep that prop on all the time - yes you lose about 10% economy based on the numbers you quoted, but that buys you the performance that can handle offshore and whatever change in conditions or change in load is thrown at you. Seems an acceptable compromise. Time to get out there - the flathead are biting! Cheers Zoran PS - thanks for the update !

Hey @blindmullet please don't take this the wrong way .... its probably just me showing my age... but does anyone else find it somewhat funny to read "blindmullet" and "sewage spill" in the same topic .... ... as a kid I just remember we'd always be wary of blindmullets swimming off Sydney beaches that were near the old sewage outflows - especially when the king tides were on ! .... Dead battery - yesterday the dash voltmeter was reading 11.2 and dropped to 10.6 when I turned the key. Well the battery was 5 1/2yrs old but kicking on without missing a beat ... until.... Anyway, NRMA guy just left ... new battery installed - all good for another 5 1/2yrs I hope ! Cheers Z

Case in point. Yesterday. Towed the boat home. Reversed in driveway. Unhitched. Drove car 1m forward. Unpacked and washed boat and gear. Jumped back in car to move it. Dead battery !!!! It’s still sitting in front of boat. i'm so lucky it started at ramp and broke down in my driveway. Cheers Zoran

That’s news to me Frank and each time I have gone for rego I have had the same setup and no one has made a comment. I’ll do some digging but if you have a reference for that rule that you can point me to it would same me time and I’d really appreciate it mate. thanks Z

Yup that would explain the bulb going soft - but not the plugs being wet. Unless there are two independent problems at same time.
