  1. It depends when your comparing it too? There are a lot more rec fishos these days compared to 20 years ago! The knowledge and skill is widely spread and so are the locations. The increase is size limits will eventually help the population but they are still out there if you put in the time and effort. The hawksebo is one of those systems that can either be feast or famine! Although, a vast knowledge of the area often reaps rewards! Just my opinion! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Nice Adam! Good to see your still out there having a crack. That's a ripper! Good luck on Fiji too! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. I agree with a few statements, alloy vs glass. But if you are taking kids with you a half cabin is a better option for many reasons but generally none of those reasons are related to fishing! I guess it depends what you'll use it more for, kids or fishing??? Good luck with your decision! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. That's an awesome read mate! Well done on a nice bag of reddies! Good on you for letting your uncle get the biggest too! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Lmao Luke! We all make mistakes but thank god none of yours were to costly. On serious note, give yourself a routine everytime you launch and don't get distracted. Then it will become second nature! Great read! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. That's cool. Never seen them before! Thanks for the ID and I'll be sure to stay away from then if they're poisonous! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. If it helps, I have a 470 Haines and I'm able to launch it by myself from a ramp or beach launch. But it all comes down to a matter of experience and practice! Cheers scratchie!!!

  9. I would start by gurnie the whole thing out! Sorry I can't help on what would disperse the petrol but I would start there and use some soapy water too! But also try to salvage as must petrol as you can as to not damage the environment. Cheers scratchie
  10. Well done again yowie! With the photo, try and zoom in just a fraction and then screen shot it. That will reduce the file size and hopefully that works! Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Spewing!!! On a positive, it looks nice and clean now!
  12. Great video and some fantastic shots! But you wouldn't catch me going in the water with that thing thrashing about! I'd prefer to be winding the rod! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Hi Jon, I'm glad your enjoying the site. With regards to diving/spearing etc..... It is a site rule as this is a "fishing forum". So anything related to rod and reel is all good! Cheers scratchie!!!

  15. No matter what the worth or cost, it's illegal so good on fisheries for putting a stop to his illegal haul. Too many people out there doing the wrong thing! It deserves the full force of the law! Cheers scratchie!!!

  21. Nice! From the iconic bondi beach. I'm surprised you managed to cast without hitting a swimmer or surfer too! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. That's some great feedback there reggae! August is always the quietest month of the calenda year. So don't stress, the warmer weather and better fishing is on the way! Cheers scratchie!!!
