  1. Looks awesome Leo! Now to get out and give them a run! Look forward to your next report! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Nice fish bluefin! Glad you got it sorted. As I said, flatty aren't leader shy. I learnt that the hard way with several huge lizards lost! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Nice work Sam. Don't you just love the pressure when taking other people fishing? Not! Some think that it's just a matter of putting a baited line in the water. We all know that it's not always that easy but don't you love when it is! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Buy a different type of leader and if it does the same thing in the same area, your leader is too light. Flathead are not leader shy! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. It's true! Last Tbft, the record cobia was caught in the same place as the record jew. I've heard of YFT being caught in the bay. 3-4 weeks ago a black marlin was caught off Tomaree heads. I personally think it's due to the amount of bait that is in the bay. Also the fact that the bay is 2 & 1/2 times the size of Sydney harbour! You gotta love Port Stephens.
  6. That's off the beach at hawks nest, I'm pretty sure! Ocean side! But during mid April and early May longtail and mac tuna are everywhere inside the bay. You can be drifting for flatties and suddenly they are busting up around you. The key is to be in the right place at the right time!
  7. This post is actually over than 5 years old. Not sure why it was resurrected?
  8. How about you try one of our sponsors? http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=79041#entry567178 Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Nice work Luke. Always a challenge landing a fish from the stones. But the weather this weekend has been perfect for a bit of rock hopping! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. It's a jew fish! They don't call them "ghosts" for nothing!
  11. Not a John Dory but I don't know what it is! Moved to aquarium
  12. Nice work there mate! That is certainly an awesome feat! That spot goes off this time of year. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Great work Tara! You obviously remembered what swordy taught you. It's a top way to spend the arvo walking the banks throwing sp's. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Let me tell you, there is no difference in taste between the two! Trumpeter are abundant year round up here and I don't mind if I do!
  15. Now that is a worthy option!
  16. Good on you for persevering! It's always good to explore new areas too and keep them in the memory bank. Always great to read your posts Neil. Your fishing spots are a lot different to mine! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. And for tuna, make sure the lures run a fair way behind the boat. Maybe 40-50m!
  18. I'm with MV. 150-200lb leader and bibless seems to do the trick!
  19. Agh, good to see you back at it yowie! Nice mixed back as usual. Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Looks like a nice day on the water! Don't you just hate the 64.5cm kings! But sounds like you pulled a few other species to make up for it. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. I know you said shallow water but I'm thinking tailor? I would try unweighted 1/0 gang with pillies. Cast and slowly roll them back to the boat. If they are flatty they will still hit them and if they're tailor you will increase your chance of a hook up! Just a thought! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Yep, the mullet run has started! Good chance of jewfish off the beach over the next 5-6 weeks!
