  1. Giddy up pete! A friggen jew that size on chicken? Wow, I got a king on the same bait a few weeks ago but a jew that size is amazing! It's got me thinking about marlin season and i might just present the fish a nice scotch fillet! Lol So what was the actual size? Maybe a typo (1meter 160cms???) Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Nice report pete! It's always great getting out on the water with your kids and getting a few. I'm hoping to do the same today! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Just get out there mate! It should be a cracking day on the water! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Hey Geoff, As mentioned, check your plate. The conditions should be ok for you tomorrow. I'll be out on the water too mate, so any hassles ring me. But just remember that up here in the arvos we get those n/e winds. So be aware of them and head back in via mrs murphy! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Thousands of blue bottles on some of the beach up here too! No swimming for me!
  6. Cheers mate. What boat are you on? We are thinking broughton or maybe seals depending on weather and current!
  7. Hey tom, Sorry I can't help you with up to date info atm as I've been away. I'm planning to head our over the weekend myself, so I'll update some info when I get out there. I have heard reports of stripe marlin about two weeks ago but nothing in numbers. As chewie said, almark is a long way from port! Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Great work as usual yowie! Cheers scratchie!!! P.s I edited the title for you (poet hacking?)

    Phobias!

Lol. I think that's a great idea. I'll try and run that by the Mrs!

    Phobias!

Alright, I'm waiting for the plane to fly back. The wind is at 30knots. Grrrrrrr! But I'm feeling a bit more comfortable and less nervous than I was on the way down! On the fishing side of things. The weather was no good and I walk the foreshore quite a few times and didn't even seen a fish in water. They mustn't like the city life either!
  12. I would wait until Tuesday and you might get a completely different answer! Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Cheers guys. The rain has bloody followed me down here! Not looking good for wetting a line!
  14. Happy birthday to you too champ! I know what you got for your birthday
  15. Lol.... But Dave google it! More people die each year from hotdogs than shark attacks! Think about it, food poisoning, choking etc!
  16. Mate I'd travel anywhere in that rig! Beautiful boat capable handling many conditions. However, travelling offshore is about confidence and knowing the limitations of your boat. 200ltrs should be more than enough to travel there and back quite comfortably. Do a few short trips first and see how it goes! Cheers Scratchie!!!

    Phobias!

Just to heighten my anxiety, the boarding is running late, I've taken my tablets early then and I've been sitting at the wrong gate for the past 20 mins. Where's that friggen "back to the future car" Swordy- ok maybe 2 things. I bloody hate needles too!

    Phobias!

G'day raiders, I'm about to board a plane for Tasmania and I have a real phobia about flying! (Just ask the swordies) and it got me thinking, other than planes I'm not afraid of much else (other than the wife) So what do some of you raiders do to quell your phobias? Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. I live on the beach. Many sharks are in the water just as there are many snakes in the bush. You have more chances of dying from a hotdog than you do then being attacked by a shark! Just like you wouldn't walk down the back alleys of kings cross at 3am, I wouldn't go swimming in miles of bait fish. Commonsense!
  21. Combine that with the 30 or 40orrs. Magic! You can buy them as a combo at bcf for about $169.
  22. The veritas is an unreal rod. Especially for casting hardbodies and sp's. My mate uses one when we go yakking for bass. I seen him catch a thumper at 50cm and pull it over a snag. When he got it clear it took off under the yak and bent the rod passed the reel. Never looked like breaking or losing the fish! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Geez trev. That's a bit of bad luck! You could always wind with your feet but casting will be an issue!
  24. Awesome fish! My favourite to eat, raw, cooked, doesn't matter! I would take a guess at 50kg! Cheers scratchie!!!
