  1. After some tuition from Ryder and Stapo, junior scratchie was determined to get a legal blackfish. After many downs he finally got one! He got a few small ones too. All caught on imitation weed.
  2. For those of you that are travelling up here, please be aware of the new crab trapping rules for this area affective from May 14th. http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/recreational/saltwater/gamefish-tagging
  3. El Niño or la niño, IMO it's just a natural reoccurrence of weathers patterns from yon! Records have only been kept for a minute amount of time considering the earths age. They can't even get tomorrow's weather right, let alone predict what type of summer we're going to have. I will guarantee you one thing though, the fish will be wet! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Mate, they took the show off air for a reason lets put it that way! Look forward to see what the fishings like down that way though. Have only headed out of Wollongong once on a charter that was pretty ordinary! I have read over the years, heaps of raiders nailing some good snapper at the hump and if I team up with the lucky pom we might just nail a few. I love fishing for snapper!
  5. All good. My family finally talked me into getting foxtel a few months back. Glad they did, I missed all my fishing shows. But wicked tuna is just that "wicked". That reel screaming gets me excited every time. It's the small things in life!
  6. Cheers Ed. Done. As long as it's a Sunday, no worries!
  7. Yeah, i seen the series "The Shire". Wow, classy bunch you guys are! Lmao
  8. There is a message box in the top right hand corner. Click on the envelope and you are able to receive and send messages. To my knowledge, you have not broken any rules. Admin was just clarifying that you are trying to organise a meet up with fellow fishos NOT a site sponsored or approved event. Regards scratchie mod team
  9. Just reading this thread and I've never fished down that way before. If it's on a Sunday and someone needs a decky, I'll be glad to make the drive down to get out there with a few raiders! Anyone got a spare spot let me know! Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. No updates please! I watch the show religiously so don't need to know any further intel. Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Don't worry about the editing! It's art imitating-life! Typical fishing stories. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story!
  12. Agree. Love watching tuna.com lose fish! That's why I like pinwheel. He gets under his skin.

    Wicked Tuna

G'day raiders, Just wondering how many of you watch the series "wicked tuna"? I reckon it's the best gamefishing show ever. If the sound of that screaming reel doesn't get your heart pumping, then your not a fisho! Go "Pinwheel"! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. I remember that spot as I was faced with wind, banked myself to re-tie my leader, took me ten minutes, then when cutting the tag I snipped my main line. Grrrrrr. Great spot to yak! Also the flats on the right hand side as you head up stream are great for sight casting bream.
  15. Great work there. If I'm not mistaken, the photo of your yak is at Cathie? I'm pretty sure that's the same spot I got my PB whiting of 45cm. Well done on the jewfish. Never got one on a hard body but they can't resist those nemisis. Awesome Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Here is a link that may help you out...... http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=75391&page=3#entry551239 It terms of charters, I haven't personally used them as I have no use for them. However, I will send you a pm! The weather this weekend ain't looking great for a charter. Best bet would be to go to corlette mid tide and pump some nippers and fish the weed edges of that area. Some good bream, flatty and whiting there. Hope that helps. Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. Well then, the smaller snap swivels work or you can use spiral decoys. They have no moving parts and act as a loop knot. Basically you can just twist on and off your lure. They come in different lb classes as well. Pretty expensive. I mainly use them when bass fishing from a yak! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Off the topic, but happy birthday Noel. Hope you've had a great day mate! Catch ya at the hair tail social! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. What type of fish are you targeting? And what line class are we talking about? Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. What an awesome story! Congrats to you both and you look one very proud dad! Sure it wasn't Father's Day over there? Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. I think it might be lost from NZ waters! Wow!
  22. Nice flatty there Vic. Hanging to get a line wet myself. Glad you had a "planB" lol. Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. Sorry to hear of your dramas. Society seems to have lost their morals and decency. I hope your child is not frighten to go back out on the boat with you thinking that that type of behavior is normal. From what I've heard it seems to be a regular occurance in that area and needs to be addressed. Hope there's a good outcome with this situation. Cheers scratchie!!!
  24. I see too many people at the boat ramp!
  25. You can also pick up off cuts of PVC pipes etc at any recycle centre. You ll be surprised what you can find at those places! We've got an awesome one up here! Good on you 4myson for helping nursie out! Cheers scratchie!!!
