  2. Well, with the area that portstephens is and having the right boat to do it, we made our plan to chase marlin. For the 2 days we spent trolling, skip baiting and live bait unfortunately to no avail. Our mission was to get demondes his first beak but the closest we got was one strike and a marlin follow des's livey to the boat and say hi!!! We didn't spend much time chasing other species expect snapper for a couple of hours that resulted in many 29cm models and a keeper. We also caught a few mahi or the table. And why wouldn't you live here........ It's been awesome having swordy and des up here. I hope the laughter from our boat wasn't what scared the fish away. I would also like to thank my mrs for the time off and driving beers and pizza down to the wharf for us last night! What a woman! As they say, there's always next year! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Incorrect. If I weighed in the kingfish and the tailor we caught, we would be on the board twice! At least we were allowed out today!
  4. Sorry we didn't get a photo of swordys rock cod! We spent nearly all day chasing marlin along with heaps of other boats. We had one strike that didn't stick. There was only one reported to the weigh in, so they weren't on today. Very rough early but was nice for the late arvo! Back out tomorrow with a few different plans in mind! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Well the stage is set............. Bring on the weekend!!!

  7. Could agree with everyone more! Well done Nats. It's great to take the little tuckers out. My young one calls everything a "marlin or snapper". Do you know how good I look when he tells everyone "we went fishing and dad caught........(pinkie,whiting) Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. Squidmarks, when I haven't been fishing for two weeks or more, you can see my goldfish get nervous when I walk past. As for the mrs, if it's been longer than a week, she will pack my fishing gear in the car, buy me some bait and four beers, drop me off somewhere and says I don't give a shit what the weathers doing your fishing. What a top woman! Yes, I think all our moods change. Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Nah, your cursed! Just send me all your rods and fishing gear and maybe it will lift it! Lol Coincidence???? Maybe! It might also be that you pair up with Krause at the wrong time. He may also do things differently when your there. How do you go fishing wise when he's not there? Cheers scratchie!!!
  10. Mate, what's wrong with you? The trailer boat tournament on this weekend. Heaps of raiders coming up. Should be a cracking weekend. The marlin are still here too! One boat got 6 yesterday on close!
  11. Of course swordy would say that. The owner of a large floating ice cream container! Lol Nice work on the fish Vic. That's a horse bream and not a bad flatty either! Good to see you out and about! Tight lines, Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. There are two fellow raiders I fish with that I really want to change there avatar name to: Fishless again and trout scarer! Not mentioning there real ones but they know who they are! Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. Awesome stuff boys! What a way to spend the day. Walking along throwing sp's and landing some quality fish. If I had access to be able to do what you guys do when I was a kid, my parents definitely would have reported me missing! Lol Keep it up Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. The LBG guys have been up here getting them for a couple of weeks. A hell of a fish to catch off the stones! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Oh yeah! Great story and great result. As people say, you'll never forget your first. I don't think it's just about the fish but the journey and effort it takes to get there. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. The locations are no secret, it's catching the bastards that can be the problem!
  17. Wow, what a great first report and indeed a rare catch. Like most of the raiders on here, I'm very envious and good to see those scent blazer lures working a treat. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Great stuff Peter. I'm hoping the weather improves up here for next weekend. Hanging to use those lures you sent to swordy. Thanks for that! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. I don't know, don't live in Sydney. But I'm assuming the same theory
  20. Live bait. Slimies or gars under a balloon float or free swimming.
  21. Thanks mate! Great session. Good to know they are around.
  22. Are there any other raiders that will be up here for this event? Only a few days left for entry!!!!
  23. Wow, what a request! I'd like to know the answer to that too!
