  1. Well done fellas, some solid fish there! I think there a bit bigger than Andrews last trip! Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. You use the search function on this site. There's probably more info on Clifton than anywhere else! Cheers scratchie mod team
  3. That's great advice. In winter up here, most of the good fish come from the close in reefs between 5-15m. After a good swell is the best time to target them. Especially if it's a big rise and fall. Rigs- paternoster with squid or pilly Sp's. Jerk shads, whip baits or nemisis 6in Or my favourite is a peeled large banana prawn on a jig head. With sp's try go as light as the current will allow. The beauty of fishing 5-15/20m of water is you can use a relatively light jig 1/4-3/8. Don't be afraid to anchor up and burley either. Best times to target them are just before/after low light periods. Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Lookout FISH yowies back! Glad you enjoyed your holiday mate. The fish on the hacking had a holiday as well. Welcome back! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Once you boys get the hang of the forum, I'm sure a few records will come your way! Nice fish Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Nice work Blake. I was fishing there on the weekend and a bloke nailed a nice one on a fly rod right next to me. Great to see young kids out there walking the banks fishing rather than running amok. Keep your reports coming! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Lol. Don't think it's the spot, more the angler!
  8. Sounds like an epic trip Ian. YFT on a popper would be awesome. Sorry to hear of your loss but by the sounds of it, he helped you get that fish in the boat! Thanks for sharing! Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Lol. Bream and blackfish are not my thing but still fun. But there's nothing like a rock session with the sunset, especially 200m from home!
  10. Couldn't agree more Pete! It feels good to come up with tight lines. Well done on the hairtail, it wasn't on my spot was it??? Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. Thanks guys! Perfect for a feed! But your right, the size of my family I needed probably two more! It was great to finally hit my favorite spot after all this crap weather. The water has certainly cleared up!
  12. G'day raiders, Just a quick report from this arvo. Headed down to my local snapper spot about 4pm with jnr scratchie to target some snapper. With only an hour left before sunset we burleyed up and cast the lines out. Nothing in the first 15mins, then bang, I'm on to decent fish. He was taking abit of line and I could feel those famous tail beats and knew I had my target. A little manovering was needed from the rocks but with jnrs help we landed this nice little snapper. Then it was jnrs turn and he played it well. Not an easy task trying to fight a snapper off the rocks on light gear. Even harder to land it on low tide but we managed. Well done little champion. We also fought 2 salmon that were fair lumps and had them on a ledge but there's never any swell when you need it and they spat the hooks whilst trying to lift them up! Never mind they were going to be released anyway! Not a bad hour session with the young fella. Thanks for reading. Cheers scratchie!!!
  13. And it couldn't be won by a nicer bloke! Congrats Steve! We fished for a short time with Steve but he put his rod down, stopped fishing, just to rig up my sons blackfish setup and explain how it all works. If Steve doesn't have a mentor badge on behalf of my family I would like to nominate him for one! A True Fishraider! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. No worries! At the next Fishraider hairtail social... http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.php?showtopic=76646&page=3#entry552502
  15. Welcome mate! From your recent post I'm sure you are the young fella that walked pasted me and my kids north of the entrance! Nice EP btw! You'll get some great info hear Blake! Hope you enjoy the site! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. 4myson, that's a great offer to help out another member and true Fishraider spirit! Good on you! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. They were there mate. Just not the big ones! Little scratchie got a down every cast on one of the arvo sessions we had.
  18. The most interesting way I've ever seen a fire started is by lighting Dorito chips and a hair dryer. Believe it or not it flared up quite easily. To be honest, I don't think it would work. Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. Unlucky Vic but good to see you putting the hard yards in early. Only a matter of time matey! Cheers scratchie!!!
  20. Haha, I'm surprised the float even went down!
  21. Hey raiders, What an awesome weekend at the social. It was a great opportunity to meet like minded people and share a beer, a fish and a few stories. I brought the family down to enjoy the weekend and they had a ball. It was a great environment for them and they fished almost the entire time. Sorry to Steve, sean and Lyn for all the tangles with the little ones! Whoops Stewy and Donna organise a fantastic event and always go out of their way to make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. This event was no different, so a BIG THANK YOU once again. It was a great turn out and we even had a young fella that has been following our site but not a member turn up and participate. Of course he's now a member but he made his mum drive him for a few hours to get there! Wow, what a champion. Also all the people that even turned up and said "hi", thanks for the effort. Personally, to stewy, Donna, stapo and Ryder, thanks for helping teach my kids a thing or two! All I can say now, is bring on the hair tail social because that will be a cracker too! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. Wow! What a cracking fish! That will be hard to beat. Fair effort landing a beast like that!
  23. Sure it wasn't from the Loch Ness???
  24. Some nice fish there. Good to see the hawkesbury producing a variety of fish! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
