  1. We only have to put up with the tourists for a short time but they don't know where the fish are! Lol
  2. Welcome to fishraider young fella. You've found some great fishing buddies with gianni and seamus. Congrats on a great session! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Cheers Gary! Same to you mate. Can't wait to give those lures I got from you a workout! Hopefully over the next few weeks the weather will be kind to us all. Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Access to ramps....... The main two ramps are soldiers point and little beach. They are both 12mins from Anna bay. Soldiers has 3 jetties and is pretty much protected for all winds. It is half way up the bay and closer towards karuaha and tea gardens. It is also 12km to the headlands. Little beach, is a ramp with no jetty but is closer to the heads if your fishing outside. All ramps in the bay are difficult in westerly winds but are not affected by swell. During the dec-apr period, most afternoons you will encounter north easterly winds.
  5. Congrats stan! Looks like a great place for a wedding and fish! Best of both worlds. She must be a top chick letting you hold the bigger fish! Lol Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. I have some of that too! Can't wait!
  7. G'day raiders, With a string of pretty poor results this month and not through a lack of trying. To answer my own question, I would have to say December is the worst. I'm not sure if it is, the unstable weather, change in water temps or just plain bad luck, but December seems to always be my worst month of fishing results. What do you raiders think??? Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. G'day raiders, After my trip to Darwin, I was fortunate enough to bring home 20kg of some of the most amazing table fish you can dream of eating. Amongst the lot was a coral trout that I caught on the first day. Well after hearing the amount of hype surrounding the quality of this fish I was waiting to save it for a special occasion. Yesterday was that day, and OMG what a spectacular tasting fish it is. An absolute explosion of flavour on the palate. It tasted better than any lobster I've had or any other fish for that matter. I also looked on here how to cook it. The best method was keeping it simple. Salt and pepper with olive oil was all it needed. What a shame we can't catch those fish down this way! Oh well, might need another trip to Darwin! Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. Hey FG, Lived in that area many yon ago! There's not really anywhere to fish around. You have the parra river to the east and the nepean to the west which is too far to ride from where you are. As a young kid though, I used to catch carp in toongabie creek, but don't tell anyone! Chewers scratchie!!!
  10. At least you got out or a fish! As for the rubbish, all we can do is lead by example. Cheers scratchie!!!
  11. That's a real challenge right there, kings on fly! I'd be happy with a nice one on a normal rod and reel. Something I must do one day, go to NZ for kings. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  12. I'd be attaching them with 140lb wire leader. Some big bitey things over there!
  13. Sorry robofish, Anthony is 100% correct. There is no camping on Stockton at present. And this time of year I guarantee it will be patrolled.

  15. Nice work Gianni. I'm expecting a few reports from you fellas now it's school holidays! Enjoy Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Sounds like some quality time and some quality fish caught. Congrats to the young fella on his first billfish. I might have to hide this post because if my kids read it, I'll have to mortgage someone else's house. Lol So incase they do, the answer is NO!!! Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. The weather was great for it on Monday. What was the water temp? The southerly should have pushed it in over the weekend. By any chance were you on board kaos? Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. The legal size for mulloway is 70cm. Yeah, real tough one there yowie! I don't like to see fish go to waste either. Maybe a compromise and one fish between 45-70cm. But rules are rules, and wether we agree or not, most of us genuine fishos follow them! Well done on catch! Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. Thanks ed!! Good to hear the weather crap?? Lol In saying that, we still managed a few fish just not any worthy! Sunday was a peach of a day, beautiful sitting there at shoal bay weigh in. Fresh local prawns, oysters and BBQ, washed down with a few beers! Awesome!!!
  20. Congrats on a great milestone! It's always rewarding ticking one off the list. Well done Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Not to be a lazy fisho! New leader, do it! New knot, do it! Re-spool line, do it!
  22. Very sad indeed. It's highlights how dangerous boating is, and we have to take every precaution possible.
