Jeff. I still have those items that will be offered for incentive and prizes, I will be ( if it's OK with you ) making a separate thread with intended prizes with photos down the track sometime before the event.

Lets hope this event turns out to have lots of members participate and we can get to meet fellow members.

At this stage I will be sharing accommodation with BigNeil and maybe one other,  Neil has already had offer to share boat. It looks like I will just be there for the company as my doctors advise against me getting on a boat, need to see specialist next month so see what he says ?.

    Frank

    No worries Frank.
If you get the ok 👌 we’ll get you on a boat 100%.
Let’s just hope we continue to progress with the lifting of restrictions and the weather gods are kind to us.

If anyone knows of a good long range forecast, let’s say two week window then I’d be interested to know of that!

    cheers scratchie!!!

I wonder if it was whiskers who smoked me the week before, im still telling myself it was a hoodlum.

Not the same area but you got well and truly bent over! Haha 😂 I keep telling you tighter drag. Hopefully next time you listen! You’ve lost quite a few good fish up there. Maybe next trip it’s your turn 👍

Myself and mods keep the playing field level - thanks particularly to @Scratchie who puts in a lot of time and posts his fishing exploits

That works for us all :)

Thanks Donna. And this site does not function without YOU, period!

It has been great to see returning members and certainly a lot of new members entering the forum.
After all this time I still love reading everyone’s fishing reports and the amount of help offered either in the chat section or someone needing help with boat issues is just awesome!

What a great community we have here and that is why we outlast all others!

    Tight lines all,

Could tell you more, but might have to keep that to another time .. So that's a quick Hi ..

Welcome to the site Warren. I’m sure as a long time fisherman, you have a few stories you could tell. Look forward to them!

cheers Scratchie, looking forward to catching up on snapper weekend. Thanks for organising this. What do you think about a BBQ get together on the Saturday night?

The whole meet and greet will depend on restrictions at the time! Generally after fishing all day no one really wants to cook. So I was thinking West Diggers. Cheap meals and probably in the centre of accommodation!

Absolute ripper snapper mate. Wow. Stuff dreams are made of.

now time to upgrade the tinny to get out to Broughton! 😂. Can’t catch ones that big in the bay, unless your me and you can’t catch any 😂

    Good work again.

Thanks Rummers. You could probably launch your tinny at boat Harbour and have a go! Some good reef systems there!

  9. Hey hey hey, awesome mate! They are some decent kings. I can only image the different ways you will cook them and I’m salivating 😋

Good to see you did some searching for yourself and it paid dividends. A mark is a mark and a good place to start. But fish have tails and they swim too! Lol

A very nice solo trip indeed. I hope you gave yourself a hi 5 👋

Well done Scratchie, that's a lovely Snapper. It would have taken all of your expertise to land on the 20lb set up. I love the "progression" photo of all the different sized fish...very creative. Let's hope there's not another lockdown, with all these clowns protesting!

    Cheers, bn

Cheers BN It took all my knowledge to land this one and some! Agree, I hope there’s not another lockdown 😢

Congratulations Jeff on landing that monster Snapper. Good on you for sharing the tale as well.

how does this catch compare to the PB mulloway?

    Thanks Luke.
Hard call but targeting any fish and being successful is rewarding. Wether it’s whiting, flatty snapper etc.

    Jew vs Snapper......

Well Jew fishing is more of a bait and wait approach. You know the locations, time tide etc and you sit there with your live bait waiting for a strike.  Usually your outfit, leaders, hooks etc are a lot more gauged for a big fish. And after a Jew has made its first run they usually come in belly up.

Chasing Big snapper on 20lb line with soft plastics requires so much more technical knowledge, hundreds of casts and then when you finally hook up to a monster and you know it. It is heart in mouth stuff. This fish was caught in only 10m of water. There were so many things I had to get right to land it.

So for me, give me snapper any day!!!

    cheers scratchie!!!
