  1. make sure take plenty of drinking water as you should already know there is only bore water @ the camp area
  2. top effort should be plenty of big sea bream starting to poke around on there annual journey up the coast with the sea mullet .
  3. ill be in the neighbourhood too ,heading early friday my first time down that way @ huskisson ,ill be takeing my light beach & Sp rod with me, leaving the boat at home damn all the marine park zones are confusing. maybe a meetup & early sunrise beach fish might be the order of the day ,
  4. there will be a much bigger gap between fuel used ,i went from 2 stroke to DFI and my range has pretty much doubled ,thats @ all rpms combined ,if mostly on the troll id say even more ,but i happen to like going fast too so ,if your blasting out then trolling it would be a fair amount with the motor plugged in i get Litres/Hr , fuel left and range km left , any new tech motor will increase your fuel economy. oh i've dropped 10hp in size & only lost about 5knots at WOT . go with the newer motor if ya going to keep it for a while.

    Hard steering

leaving it for a few mths is not the best , if ya can jump in it every fortnight at least and give it a good dozen or so turns from lock to lock and use those grease nipples what for amd push out all the old grease every 3 mths ,not a lost of cost for return of ease of steering ,
  6. can you have too many squid jigs

  7. the 30T will handle almost all but the biggest kingies the largest record kingie NZ caught from jetski is about 30kg .on a 30T & monster mesh, or just step up to a saltiga ,ya dont wont something to bulky.
  8. hmm time between 9am and 4pm well prob the worst time of the day it dont matter what bait you got . if you had said between 4pm and 9am thats a diff story .should be plenty of big bream around with anzac day looming .due to there migration up the east coast. and the big jewies chasing the mullet as well .

Close but no cigar --the wave buoy recorded highest at 12meters so about 40 ft and the highest wind gust at the marina was recorded on a yacht masthead at 70 knots so it was pretty wild. My boat was in the marina and everything was ok.

  10. hey roberta those pics are about 2 hrs drive north of you hey starlo fits in there well with the camo's and green ,
  11. man that little toga @ 5.40 hit about 6 inches from the rod tip wow awesome action ,heres a spot i fish @ parents place for big bass up to 4lb if ya can stop them
  12. i must admit my own is a kilwell custom mt896 that ive had for quite some time its not in the 24kg range but ive put plenty of spanish from nth of swr away with it as long as you have the line capacity .if ya gunna spend a bit try get a custom one to fit then you hold where the reel seat is plus what grips so forth, guides its all up to you
  13. squid outfit on deposit "woot"

  14. id look @ 8 ft being minimum length if your fishing spots say like hat head . especially after big spaniards or jews ,kingfish, cobia , I use a overhead which i can cast plenty as most of these spots you just cant plop a livie out
  15. congrats on a new motor ,they crap all over the old 2 strokes ,watch your fuel range increase now

  17. yer should be able to pick up the hitachi set with 2 batts, torch, charger for around 300 bucks, id get the 14.4 volt as a minimum otherwise youll be changin batts often oh and these change quick too .
  18. saltist 30T for me its got 300yd of 50lb braid with 20lb mono backing.
  19. mate top effort and a cracker, good thinkin on keeping the rod holder calm especially if not use to catchin them , it pays to plan your moves even when you first get to a spot ,usually how am i gunna land a monster if i get the chance or in my instance off rocks where to escape rogue waves. we've caught heaps of jewies on our bream gear namely because thats what where after ,when the big sea bream are running ,2/0's med ball sinker half pillie many jewies have fell to it . And TERRIBLE weather hahaha nice thats what we like , rain ,hail or shine, had double hookups in absolute flood weather ,ya just never know with the big silver trophies.
  20. get Spotters most shapes hold to yr head snugly (they wont just drop off when you lean over the side of boat ) there quite tough , ive had mine for almost 3 yrs i where them everyday ,in car ,fishing ,theyve peeled a little off the nose piece but best sunnies for price by far , massive amount of colours and frames , and you shouldnt pay anymore then $260 for them obviously you could pay near 1k for carbon oakleys. best to find a outlet and try plenty of types on ive got the white coyote frames with smoke lense, blue mirror.
  21. look for a boat that has a decent motor ,heading offshore's all about reliability ,you dont want to be thinking about "will my motor start " in the back of your head.
  22. im pretty sure there more than a few places where you can go and confidently know theres meter plus kingies that can be caught one after the other ,eg lord howe ,Nz nth island but not many where you can catch XO jewies like that
  23. Roy i was in same position as you approx 6 mths ago , id right a page up with all the motors your lookin at ,even a new old tech 2 stroke ,have their hp,weight,cubes/liter,amperage,servicing intervals and approx costs over their warranty period ,are you going to be trolling, blasting to yr fav fishin spot ,cruising with family for the day ?.then get prices on all of them fitted make sure props and controls are in the price. and dnt forget are you going to be using it everyweekend or maybe only half dozen times are year? are you going to keep the boat for a while as you wont recoup much money for the old boat only for the motor, lots to consider.
  24. crack in my transducer NOOOOOOOOOO
