Had one a couple of years ago from Sydney, but around Coffs higher percentage Mushy.
Disappointing.

Lucky buggar, had to work myself.
You have a Yellowfin Leatherjacket and a Girdled Scaleyfin or another common name is a "Palma"
-
Awesome and in the years to follow the photo will even more special.
-
I'm going Smallmouth Scad "Alepes apercna"
-
Where was it caught C/T. Rough area will do mate.
-
They used to spin up some big Jew on feathers when the Hawkesbury was in flood back in the day but other than that not much.
Places like Winney Bay and Avoca had the limelight.
-
You just gotta love old photos.
Excellent.

On-Ya BN, always enjoy reading your reports.
Hopefully we'll be reading one soon on a 1mt fish you get and if we don't keep up the reports anyway.
Thanks.

Not a Pacific Bluefin but still a rare occurrence. You would know if you hooked it spinning for Bream or Flathead.

Also called a Blacksaddled Goarfish, though Blackspot is the most common name.

Alwsys love reading about that part of the country.

51cm Wild Bass, now thats a great fish.
Congratulations.

The only thing I can add to it is I thought it was caught at the Peak and the 60 was the gear it was caught on. 60kg or the old 130.
130 off Sydney, it wouldn't get much use even in those days.
Couple of ID requests. (Estuary Catfish & Blind Shark)
in The Aquarium
Posted
First one is a Estuary Catfish "Cnidoglanis macrocephalous"
They have poisonous Dorsal and Pectoral spines .... and bloody hurt. So be careful with those ones.
Second one is a Blind Shark "Brachaelurus waddi"
Good on you for returning them to the water.
