    E10 Fuel

E10, great for lawn movers chain saws but definitely not boats. I only use e10 in other people's vehicles because they've put it in at the pump, never my own vehicles. It's the lowest octane rated fuel and should never be used in boats. Most fuel pumps have a sign recommending not to use e10 for marine purposes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Prop Selection

Before adjusting the throttle review whether it is correct. The bfp motors were designed for heavier loads such as house boats and pontoons not high revving for runabouts. I have a bf60 that revs out to 6 under load and can pull 3 adults on a tube. It may be the wrong engine for you boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Really like the job you've done. Looks like I'm headed to the local hardware to pick up a few bits and pieces. I like ragings idea of a grab handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hey Jim. I was down at my marine mechanic and asked about water getting in at the steering cable on transom, whether I'm missing a cover for it. His response was that it is a known problem that is overcome with lots of silicon. The manufacturer doesn't supply a gland for the steering cable or engine cables to go through. You can replace the split cable covers with hard covers and use self amalgamation tape to create a seal if you don't want silicon on the cables. If you do use silicon, try using the non acetic cure stuff. Cheers Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The issue is not so much the motor supporting its own weight as removing the pressure off the fibreglass transom. I've seen some transom savers that adjust to hull overhang, it just depends on how much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have the 449 baymaster and it's easily a one man job. 460 would be no issue as long as trailer in good condition and for first few runs you have a mate to watch if anything goes pear shape. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Hey Jeff, is the that the invite??[emoji482] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Have a look at where the steering control cable exits the hull. In any sort of following sea the water can go straight through the pipe. I found this out at the soft plastics day when wash from a wave ski boat was hitting the stern of the boat. When I lifted the nose a bit the bilge came on and ran for a couple of minutes. I'd class it as a design flaw that the manufacturer doesn't fit a boot to the cable feed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. For $4-5 at discount stores it's cheap insurance against fines and if it goes out of date I just use it as a fresh water rinse for the bilge. [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. You may want to check the sockets on the harness plug and the pins on the head unit. Even the slightest bit of surface corrosion will cause issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    After Nav lights

Just to be on the safe side make sure you go up in the pwr rating especially as the previous on does look a bit crispy. Replace both as a precaution. Whilst your at it the diode my need to be looked at as the heat may have broken it down a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    After Nav lights

Have you considered just replacing the resistor. Significantly cheaper than a new light fitting. As you can read the resistor value in the other bank it should be a no brainer to get a replacement at the only remaining retail electrical store now that DSE is gone.
