  1. A friend had a Captiva with poltergeist, engine starts without the key in the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. That is just showing off. Someone must have been super good this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Did you install the surge protector, install it upside down or lie it flat during install. Was there an anti siphon loop in the line that in hindsight you should have taken notice of. Fuel systems can be a real pain if not replaced exactly the same way the manufacturer had then in the first place. Hope you get it fixed without too many issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Mine came on due to a failed cat converter. Warranty repair as it completely collapsed and messed with fuel settings. 280km for a full tank, talk about running super rich. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just don't believe the fuel stats published by VW[emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. An important point to remember (in line with Ian's point) just because it is no today it may not be a no in a week or 2. Another important point is think about what time of day or day of the week you try the cold call. Try not to apply on a weekend at lunch or near open and close times as they are usually the hardest in the day to get the owner or managers attention. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New car

Yeah it might be true but I wasn't going to risk it with a brand new car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was advised by dealership to avoid diesel unless I'm going to knock on at least 30k plus kms a year or risk a very pricey repair for new particulate filter. Saleman was very honest about it as he is a diesel filter by trade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Make sure you don't look at the Hyundai Elantra (current models) as they do not recommend it tows anything to the point they will not sell any tow gear. I changed car because of this reason. I now have an ix35 750kg Unbraked and 1600kg braked. Mt Ousley and Bulli pass are a breeze. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. Hi all. Just a heads up that Port Kembla including public ramp will be closed Saturday 5th Dec 5am-3pm. Marine notice S01567. First Saturday of summer and fine weather predicted and they close the most protected ocean ramp. Typical. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Navionics is really good. Some points I want to review however I'll use the desktop version first to do some scoping first. Then I'll do the drop pin trick on my phone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. I know this may sound callous, but here goes; if people are to silly to be out in conditions that they are unable to cope with ( be it in a boat or rock fishing) the prevailing conditions and do not prepare for the worst they let darwins laws of selection improve the gene pool. I'm all in favour of laws and support mechanisms that assist the unlucky but if you are plain stupid then so be it, but please do have some consideration for the people who's lives are at risk during the rescues and the innocent families who suffer in the aftermath. Taking all that into account, RIP and I hope I never hear it was a raider. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Your spending the coin, so its for you not anyone else. I bought a boat that suits me any nobody else. I can get it in and out of the water myself and I'm not reliant on anyone else to help with cleanup or prep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Old trick is a simple tap test. Take a 20c coin and tap the area of fibreglass you are suspicious is wet/delaminating or damaged. http://themarinesurveyors.com/why-we-tap-your-hull/ I've used the method to test radomes on aircraft. It's the simplest and cheapest NDT test known. You need to listen for a change in sound. Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I mean the point where the tide is measured. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hi Dave. It has to do with where the measure point is and the fact that there are actually 2 channels. One channel is at the heads and the other is into the lake itself. There is a surge effect that is very similar to lock systems on rivers except that it is a check point. You'll find Swansea and Lake Macquarie is a similar situation. Winch Issue

Hi Craig. I know with my winch that it takes a fair bit of effort to pull the webbing off the spool. I do find if I give the handle a bit of a nudge it will start to move and I'm in a similar weight class you mentioned. Once the initial inertia and the handle starts to spin all is good. It a hassle when at the end of the trailer and I need an extra foot of Webb to make the hook up. Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. I have a stacer 449 baymaster. Just big enough for a bit of outside work, came with the Bimini and rear seat, canvas covers and I took the 60hp 4 stroke option. Joys1-7&9 I can fully relate to, working on #8. It is on a braked trailer but I happy to have that bit of extra help if I need to pull up in traffic when tools cut in. It ticks the boxes for me as its small enough to manage alone, yet big enough for some fun for reasonable price. Good luck with hunt.
  23. If you are considering a respray, do it as soon as possible after the soda so that the Aluminium doesn't oxidise too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. Manual override is good to have in case the main goes to low to crank the engine. It brings the six online for start only, otherwise it is never used for start. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
