  1. You'll find that most of the fish around lansvale and the lakes are mullet. Unless the water quality has changed significantly I wouldn't be eating anything from those upper stretches of the Georges. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hey Fab. Very lucky it was a left turn as you were turning left. Could have been significantly worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi fab, I have strip lights in mine that are dimable and colour selectable. I can select between red and white. Strips are all concealed and pointed towards deck. My setup cost roughly $100. I was lucky that mine are all glued on and have survived a season on water. Cheers Ric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Wow. Sounds like like you need to find a new spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Boat Insurance

What ever you do "don't underinsure" as you will get a value paid lower that the value in the policy. Take photos of how you lock up your boat so that if the worst happens you can prove you took appropriate precautions. Cheers Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Looks like another great weekend with big surf means another rock fisho needs Careflight, this time at Garie in the notional park. The news says it all"no life jacket". http://m.smh.com.au/nsw/iranian-man-critically-injured-in-rock-fishing-accident-in-royal-national-park-20160228-gn5wr1.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Using the charts and doing some quick sums the range I could get is over 250kms at cruise. I have a stacer 449 but the same motor but that doesn't mean is chance it. Pretty sure one tank would get me to Gosford from Penrith. Playing it safe I'd fuel up before the return trip. Ric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Doing 4or8 knots on the Georges with a 115 johnson you could go from milperra to the heads and do some fishing on a single tank. But I'd have 2 tanks for the run back just in case your running against the tide. 1 out 2 back similar to Zmk's 1/3rd rule. Specs on my boat at cruise 75l tank and 50 Honda gives me 200+ kms so I could possibly do a run from Penrith to Gosford and back without too many issues apart from water quality. Ric. 10. I agree with tastee. I've had my stacer in water a few times over the year for extended weekends. Good wash on the way home and extended engine flush. I did raise the motor out of the water when not using it and have had no other concerns. Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Biggest issue with any silicon type product will be adhesion to the stuff they make the yaks from. Silicon products won't go brittle by their very nature but you will need to remember that they will very easily peel off any substrate that is very smooth or dirty. Buy the smallest tube possible and do some peel tests before deciding on a final product. Sika has a good range of industrial products. Look for one that can be used with fibreglass or painted products. I've seen it used in rail industry to bond fibreglass panels together and that is subject to some insane vibration and weather. 12. Heard from a mate south of the gong that the beaches were getting hammered by big swell and surf was pumping. We were headed for JB but put it off till next week. Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If you can access the bilge pump and have enough access to put it in a bucket then fill the bucket with water. That saves trying to fill the bilge with water to check the pump. There was a thread a few weeks ago about checking bilge pumps that you might want to do a search on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. New tow vehicles hitting our shores. Better buy a bigger boat. 3.5 tonnes is so last year[emoji1360] http://www.news.com.au/technology/innovation/motoring/buyers-lining-up-for-us-supersized-pickup-the-new-dodge-ram/news-story/8a8a4900975ee2c81d1b48866c60358e?sv=2eff3df36fea328d85768da8f52083cb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That is the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hey shakey. I've have the ix35 petrol and tow my 449 stacer without any issues. Taken it to jb and Georges basin and fuel usage was a bit higher but that could be due to all the hills and traffic. Loaded trailer is about 1100kg fully loaded. Ric. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I was up there in September. Pretty much reef bashing out of the spit. The hotel we stayed at had lots of options and it was a hard push to get a booking once there so it might be wise to ask accommodation supplier to send some details, that's what I'll do next time I'm up there. 18. Hi Paul. I'll definitely keep graphics designer stuff in mind. Is it web based or for print?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Any chance of letting me know where you purchased the fitting. I have the same fitting as Zod to fit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hey Paul that is some really nice metal work. Sheetie by trade?? The welds/ folds and mention of the putting a radius on the cutouts are all top notch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi Paul. Nice start to the project. Just a thought, have you fitted a brace to the sounder bracket, otherwise the flex will eventually lead to cracking of the bracket. It would be nice if the sounder connectors were removable like on microphones so that they can be installed through smaller holes. I had the exact same issue. Cheers Ric Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Wow. 40k's out is a great effort. Gives me some hope that on a good day I can head out a bit in my 449 baymaster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Have you thought of contacting our site sponsors to see if they can order the parts as marine suppliers and fit the parts. Just an idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
