  1. Find a mobile marine mechanic - they’ll do a pre purchase inspection for a few quid.
  2. Might be new battery time if you’ve drained it flat a few times. Does the model of your ctek have the regeneration mode? If so, give that a go.
  3. It will charge faster if you watch it ?
  4. They draw current. You need to use the isolation switch when you’ve done for the day. Ctex- won’t matter while charging.
  5. I’ve put on Bluetooth voltage meters on my batteries, so they are out of the way & I just check via my phone. they draw 1ma which is bugger all.
  6. Proposals include - shutting the ramp from 10pm to 7am - paid parking with 6 hour limit for boat trailers - less trailer parking Have your say here https://yoursay.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/draft-tunks-park-plan-of-management

    Gps epirb

I bought a SA1G, was the cheapest with gps at the time. Reading online seemed positive feedback at the time. I also assume there are some Australian safety standards out there that they have to meet. the most advertised brand has had recalls - take that for what it is good or bad. Just in case - don’t mistake a personal location beacon for an epirb. Also, as the battery has a finite life, you want to buy from somewhere with fresh stock, not one sitting on a shelf for the last few years. Pros with the SA1G - I haven’t drowned since having it - I haven’t had to use it. Cons - only caught a rat king last time I was out, I have to blame something apart from myself.
  8. Run the old motor until it goes bang.

    Boat Code

    This it? https://www.ppsr.gov.au/hin-hull-identification-number
  10. My sounder is the smaller & older version to ops. Some king fishies. The red at the top was turbulence in the water. A school of yakkas In clearvue mode, harder to see fish, easier to see structure
  11. Try traditional with chirp frequency selected. if everything else is default the main setting to play with is the gain. You should be getting archers if there is fish - I’ll take photos of mine next time I’m out.
  12. Are you using traditional view or clearvu?
  13. As long as the battery is healthy, no dead cells (12v etc) it will work fine. It should give you a voltage reading on the screen. It should work out of the box with default settings to see fish on the sounder. Maybe do a factory reset to get it back to the default. what are you seeing?
  14. The proposal is ridiculous IMHO - especially if you consider the risk by rec fishing is low on the list within the paper compared to things such as pollution. It’s also a slippery slope, even if your spots aren’t effected this time around, it may be next time. im all for sustainable fishing, but not once have I been checked by fisheries. If it’s about sustainability, fix that first. With correct bag & size limits and enforcement our fishing is sustainable. something doesn’t smell right with this - either an attempt for the green vote or colluding with scuba industry. ive filled out the survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HawkesburyDP) & also contacted my local state MP. I urge you to do the same. This will come down to a numbers game - join the count, don’t leave it for the next guy. While not a talk back radio fan - it’s good to see ray Hadley pick up the fight. There is a Facebook group ‘stop the lockout’ for those who are interested.
  15. Ive always assumed that was deliberate. If water comes over the bow it can drain out the back via the scuppers or bildge pump
  16. I have one. In hindsight/if I wasn’t too lazy, I’d sell it for more of a fishing boat. I tend to take it out more for fishing than anything. when the family comes out, the front does get used though, but only some of the time. Most of the time - they end up in the back out of the wind etc. Looking at what you want to use it for - bow rider is a good choice.
  17. Bow rider - quintrex freedom sport 490
  18. What’s the Australian spec day for towing? Which outback model do you have? i have older outback, with the bigger motor to capacity is 1800kgs. I tow a 5m Quintrex that’s 1200kgs
  19. Use tuna oil instead of etec oil in the motor - you’ll attract more of something.
  20. @jeffb5.8 has had issues.
  21. Enjoy - make sure you anchor sets well, can get plenty of water flowing there (sow & pigs)
  22. I’ll get the clothes and you can fish with me. ?
  23. Obviously I’ve been wearing the wrong fishing gear. Anyone know where I can get the fishing clothes below in a men’s extra large?
  24. Is it relatively cheap?
  25. I’m sure there is a bung licking joke there somewhere.
