  8. Just an update. I took the old finder off, then pulled apart the base (held together with plastic glue). Then with the square black plastic, I cut a round disc to fit inside which the new finder screws into. Happy with the result of using the old screw holes

  16. So I managed to get black hdpe plastic squares from a plastic shop. Got a few to experiment with. took some time sanding to round off the sharpness and to smooth it out, then hit it with a butane torch. There is a fine line between not enough and too much flame Attached is the work in progress. Left before, right is after.

  18. I'm happy with kastking off the bay - hasn't let me down (yet). it's pretty thick for its strength rating though so only use it on the heavier non casting gear

    My old hub that I use as a base when knocking out bearing races is in better condition then that
  21. Fair call. Can't be arsed lifting it in the boat now I have two working batteries. ill dispose of it when I'm next heading to super cheap.
