  1. could be a bit difficult if you have rollers like 95 percent of boats have..you only need two inches of hull with st/edge or level....Stephan lower or raise motor till cav plate on motor sits parallel with said st/edge..measure height above or below if badly wrong...then a resolution to your problem can be sorted..rick

  2. lower your engine to running height and lay a level or straight edge from under the bottom of hull to your engine..me thinks your cav plate is slighty lower or dead level with your hull if lower you can raise...the water leaves the hull and rises slightly as it flows back towards your motor..engines on pods have a large prob with this as they need to raise their motor higher than normal..check your height then let us know

  3. Finally got away with my best mate chasin cod..we tried some slow water for a change..we fished from yaks for a few hrs but only had two missed strikes..  me thinks we were spookin the fish in the yaks..after a swim and a feed  a couple of coldies we went for a fish walkin the banks.as the light faded we wernt dissapointed we ended up with a dozen nice fish on a mixture of diving and surface walkers..cod were only small with biggest just 60 cm but had a great time and cant wait to get back

  4. new fire extinguisher for boat new shimano shirt auto inf life jacket..my missus is awesome..bought myself a trekking backpack from bcf to use cod fishing..awesome bit of gear  ..merry xmas everyone ..hope u got nice pressies

  5. most people stick with mono for billfish..if in a club they use pretest line to comply with gfaa and igfa  we fish for fun now and use braid with a 70mtr topshot of mono it gives a stretch factor which negates the violent headshakes and jumps..braid has nil stretch and fished straight to trace can be very hard to stay tight to a beakie.... I personally have copped a couple of floggings when they jump close and shake there head..still fun but not advised for newbies...good luck with the new outfit,,rick

  6. you may have sucked some sand or mud in..it sometimes balls up under the thermostat..your telltale on johnno will run faster after a minute or two once the thermostat opens..you can remove it yourself and clean and test or replace they are not difficult...rick

  7. that's a 146  I had a 166 for years and fished out of a 186 open windscreen model many times..great hull ..deep v entry good travelling hull flat deadrise compared to some so very stable at rest..they were made for quite a few yrs..as easyrider then bought by xatal nautiglass manufacturers on the central coast for 4 or five yrs after that...the windscreen models handle better than halfcabs as they are better balanced...enjoy the 186 they are a great hull...rick

  8. haven't seen yakkas caught in tuggerah or lake mac for that matter...maybe someone has spot in woywoy or gosford..only alternative is newie harbor..plenty in there..maybe small mullet might be better alternative
