  1. Hi all...off Newcastle the coal ships have raked the grounds flat from anchoring waiting to get into the port.snaper fishing is not as productive as port Stephens, but snapper are caught often, and good ones.plenty of pros and Rex’s in both spots.and port Stephen only a beach away.
  2. Hi all...rick,I remember years ago behind pelican airport a bunch of them with a mincer putting anything and everything thru the mincer.same thing,no speak English.
  3. Hi all...I done a lot of fishing off port Stephens in the 70s with my old man and uncle,I always remember catching snapper and trevally, trevally were thick in numbers and always thrown back.today you rarely catch a trevally, still get plenty of snapper though.what happened to the trevally ??

  7. Hi all...Garfield,charge both your batteries and take them to a battery place, they will test them free of charge.to test your alternator get a multimeter on your battery and it should read somewhere around 12.5 volts or more.start your engine and it should read around 14.5 volts.
  8. Hi all...scratchie,as you know I live in port Stephens, and fish Broughton all the time.i would hate to take a seat from some one who has never or rarely fish up here.
  9. Hi all...ive sold my boat,I doubt I’ll have another before the date,so I’m out.i will come up on the Friday nite for a beer.

  12. Hi all...I’m in...the only thing that could stop me is my boat will be for sale very soon, and may not have a replacement.
  13. Hi chilltime...have you seen how the barcrushers bar catch works ??you have an oky strap that has 2 positions, one for putting boat on and the other for boat off.to get the boat off all you do is drive the boat forward, the catch releases itself.i have a vague idea how other catches work, maybee you could spring load it with an oky or spring similar to the bar catch and just drive the boat forward so it releases itself so you haven’t got some sort of complicated contraption.some body has to bring the car back and forth to the ramp,so all the have to do is set the catch. what do you think of your hains 675 enclosed ??? I’m hoping to have one myself this year.
  14. Hi all....ive got a 15 hp,you have to lift the engine all the way up to lower it back down, lift it one click at a time to set the trim.
  15. Hi all...hains hunter 675 offshore enclosed.

  17. Hi all...baz,you can buy electrical cleaner (pressure pack)from super cheap and the likes,it’s good for your switches.my switch for my nav lights seems to need a spray on a regular basis.

  19. Hi all...little beach wasn’t to bad in the morning or when we come back around lunch.
  20. Hi all...baz,you asked the question in woodsys thread but I’ll answer here cause I think it more appropriat here. i never turn my radio on because I find it anoying so it’s always off.next time I see you up there I’ll keep it on. my mate had a kingy at the side of the boat and me with 4 failed attempts with the net cost him his fish,it may or may not have been legal size, but it was very disappointing to drop the fish like that being the first fish of the day without a bite for a few hours.we ended up with 2 snapper, the biggest went 52cm.
  21. Hi all...even though you never had the best day fishing,at least you got out of the house and enjoyed yourself. scratchie, when i was at the sisters, you could see a current line running right thru them 18 deg close 20 deg wide.very quiet at the sister when we were there, they may have fired up later in the day,but we never went back.
  22. Hi all...well done woodsy, our day started extremely slow but come good in the end. what type of boat was you referring to ?????
