    Rusty bolts

A great discussion Gentlemen, Can anyone explain why that particular location has suffered so much rust compared to surrounding areas and how the rust can be prevented please?? Thanks, Hoods
  2. Thanks for the report Dave. Congrats on the mixed bag. How is the Boat Ramp following the floods?? And can you get down river past the bridge yet or is it still closed to boating? No need to fish further north now you can get em all up the Hastings. Hoods
  3. Have you considered in line singles?? Work a treat on Trout
  4. There's Fishraider for you again. Ask and ye shall receive - seek and ye shall find. Sunglasses are sunscreen for your eyes
  5. Well done Fullas - the World is Your oyster now. Expecting Lots of reports. Tight lines.
  6. I agree with Dirvin. I also find Owner have better than average trebles in the smaller sizes. I favour BKK in the upper sizes and in line singles.
  7. I use an empty beer carton suitably fashioned to limit the mess and splatter.
  8. Hi All, I received ours by email. Neil will be happy with the high output of Murray Cod fingerlings. Regarding the Jewfish I saw some drone footage of a large school of quite large Jewfish, <1m, in a mid north coast river last month in what we thought was a large breeding event. Well we hope so anyway as the stocks were not looking good untill last season.
  9. Hi Mark, Apologies for the late reply. My enquires during the week suggest good snapper north of Coffs around the islands up to 30m taken on SP's. Yellowfin taken just over the shelf. Wooli being well placed for both. Good Luck.
  10. Thanks for the report. Those Trag are perfect size for the oven.
  11. I like Zorans style. Mate has the travel buddy in his boat and we do pies over winter (well actually most of the time). Always get a laugh when other boaties are on the radio thinking they can smell the Bakery after we go past. Lots of us use the single burners up at Eucumbene to do breakfast/lunch on the water due to early starts. I put mine up the front under cover and try to protect as best as possible from the wind. Its a freshwater lake so no need for a thermos. (Plunger coffee on my boat)
  12. Maaate - I cannot make it through your list!!!! The poor girl will be in sensory overload. Why don't you get here a Beer - with Duncan (I love to have a beer with Duncan) Your lists are very comprehensive but you have forgotten The Bush mate. I bet you don't have a Pub with No Beer. Thanks for the Thread - I'm in trouble for playing your music (too loud). Hoods
  13. Thanks for the heads up Gentlemen, I am about to embark on the same journey. Any advice regarding busbars please Thanks, Hoods
  14. Good to see you enjoyed Tuncurry. Those stonker Bream under the Wharf are the most highly educated fish on the east coast - like PhD level and better
  15. Geez Neil, Why do you ask such hard questions!!?? I agree with Bluefin "Lure Fishing. Vic McCrystal (?) once said " A Lure is a Lie told to a Fish " I love the feeling of a fish hitting a lure. I love the anticipation. I love searching , Hunting for my fish. A fly fisher from Wagga once described fly fishing for Trout as "the artful deceiver" and I find this form of fishing is quite addictive I am thinking the favourite form of fishing is the one we're enjoying now. Problem is as we get older our early fishing experience carries more nostalgic "weight" Your question is a bit like asking an angler why they fish (bit like the poem Mulga Bills bicycle) - anticipation?? Hope you are keeping well.
  16. Thank you as luck would have it thats the ones I was looking at.
  17. Hi Mate how did you go with switch panels?? I'm in the same boat er situation now refurbing the Haines. Looking at rocker switch style but wary about quality purchasing on line. Would appreciate your thougts Thanks

    Enter Thepod.

Can I suggest you take out insurance for the water skiers - can you imagine their reactions as you trundle past down the river?? I think some might run up the bank in fright.
  19. Thanks Donna - an oldie but a goodie. As the upgrade to the boat nears completion and the year is getting on the question was posed earlier today - When can we chase Yellowfin?? AND so a quick search of the site produced the appropriate professionally presented I must add, information required. So a big Thank You for posting the above. Regards Hoods
  20. First of all - good luck with your choices. I can only add that "we" have broken half a dozen Zings - I still love them but.... I replaced one used for snapper plastics with an Atomic Arrowz 12-25lb and cannot speak a bad word of them (and it has not broken - yet) I fished a Penn Slammer 4000 and penn rod combo out of the river once it would have been under water for maybe a week. Hosed it off, oiled the roller and it hasn't stopped working.
  21. A huge Thank You mate for a wonderful report and spectacular photo's. Sounds like your soul is replenished. Have not fished it since about '88. Hoods
  22. Should be called Notorious Bar so more people get the message.
  23. Plenty of Mackeral getting lost atm. Solid reports from Grassy Head north of SWR - mostly spotties. Those Mac Tuna are dirty bait thieving B@st@rds. However they seem less intrusive this year
  24. Thanks for the report Paddy, You are not on your own. The Macks have been sporadic and problematic to boat. The Tax Man has been having a field day too. Seems like small patches of fish and spread out. Can someone tell me why the Mac Tuna are never taxed but the others are!!?? Better luck next year.
