  1. For such a great fsihery the Macleay has really copped it the last few years. The fires totalled some really nice Bass up the river.
  2. I'm hearing you mate. I'm still keen to get outside and learn to speak Spanish. Some nice mackeral & a large Sailfish caught off Byron a few weeks ago. Report today of some some big Kings in close chasing mullet in the dirty water on the midnorthcoast. From here to June is usually the best time to stock up the freezer!! My best alternative is head inland for some dry weather & help BigNeil with his Cod studies after I get my lawn mown by drone - even considering some of the northern impoundments.
  3. Good on you Neil for getting out & having a go. With the current weather event here I'm thinking of heading out your way so I can have a fish!! Great shots.
  4. We don't need to buy Lottery tickets. Living in Australia is Winning the Lottery. Especially now. Oh how I wish for the gentle stream With a rippling run and a deep quiet pool Set against the rocky bluff and overshadowed by the river gums Full of promise and the Fish to come
  5. Thank you, As you are so confident I will take some "banana yellow" SP's outside next time & the banana essence!! Don't tell Scratchie!!
  6. I bet there is Rum in that PepsiMax (to ward off the Mozzies).
  7. Thanks for the report - can you advise how you rig the banana please? Setup, what size hook(s) etc Floating bait?? I am intrigued as we have dirty water up the coast & desperate for a fish. Thanks Hoodz

    Mercury ID

You should be able to put those numbers into a section on the Mercury website and it will give the details of the motor.
  9. Whats the line in the movie?? "i love it when a plan comes together" Rodeo will not forget that fish - what a stonker. As my grandfather said - the harder you work the luckier you seem to get. Congrats Rodeo on a just reward Now - what did he catch it on (please)
  10. I saw some photos years ago of cod laid across the back of bullock drays (I think 10'6" wide for wool bales) taken i think in the murrumbidgee around Darlington Point area (Benerambah Station??)
  11. I am biased however I think you have made the better choice. The current is running hard up here about 4 knots with fads half submerged or more & no fish evident. PS gives you more options to get to the edges & find the fish atm. Water temp is good. Should be a Blue Marlin off PS by now.
  12. Hey Scratchie - Nice fish. Whiskers has relocated (up our way). If they keep following you why don't you change your boat!!! Go incognito. 🤡
  13. They can be very fussy at times. A dead live bait is better than no bait at all but as above sometimes you need to downsize to small lures etc. Burley can spark them up. Noisy boats can send them packing. If you are drifting past Fads etc motor back up current well away from the Fad then quietly drift back past. We start with bigger baits and sometimes have to go to half pillies etc.
  14. I feel for you Neil, attached is the eastern cod photo I sent you last year from up near Dorrigo. I think Murrumbidgee Irrigation should be made aware their water policies are creating unattractive fish!!
  15. Thanks for the report looked like a great day to be on the water. Is the river clearing up?? Still a bit dirty further south.
  16. Scotts Head is popular the ramp iss in the corner of the beach past the Van Park - limited parking. Shallow protected corner but no Bar.
  17. Hi Kingie Chaser - could you tell me where to get some of those tests please - I could do with a positive case of Go Fishing!!
  18. Thanks for the report Geoff & Evi, When I was very young a close relative & his mates would fish all the back country using trail bikes. They knew all the old roads and tracks from the grazing days. Fly fishing at its best. I will suggest the use of your motorised bikes however I suspect they will decline. I remember crossing the Eucumbene River by 4wd when the lake first dropped and heading out the back on the old highway which my "older relative" remembers driving on before the dam. The old highway bridge at Anglers reach was visible recently. Unfortunately a lot of the huts that burnt in the 1990's fire Uncle Yogi did not want to replace despite them being on their Asset Register which has been a great loss of history as well as current use & enjoyment of the Park. I'm looking forward to your next report. Thank you Hoods
  19. Well done BN - an early Christmas pressie from the fishing Gods. Great photos and Thanks for sharing.
  20. Hey Scratchie welcome to the Mid North Coast. I shouldn't tell you this but your old mate Whiskers has some close relies up here. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Brendon has done the hard work for you - look in Fishing Reports. Good luck. Lake Mac Flathead on surface lures By Brendonjohnson, November 25 in Fishing Reports
  22. Thanks for the report Dave, We were up there first week of November. The Murrumbidgee below Tantangarra was very low after a recent flood as they were working on the dam wall with only a couple of very small fish. The Snowy II works are amazing to see. Thanks Hoods
  23. They are such a good looking fish at that size. I love the purple hue on the top of their head. There's a reason they call them ghosts. Thanks for sharing.
  24. Well done BN. Keep up the good work. As for "sports" fish they make good target practice. On a side note the water out near the shelf last weekend was over 23 but the boys came home empty. I suspect lots of fish are in close cleaning up as the dirty water flushes out. I'm sure there are some big lizards, jew & red "deveils" waiting for your attention up here. If you tell us the details of your motor I'm sure there will be one lying about.
