  1. Bluespotted watchman goby? Its a bit lighter colour though but maybe just variation due to where its living.
  2. Use less pressure, same as those feed and weed packs for your lawn, they aren't supposed to run at full noise.
  3. Plenty of muddies and blue swimmers in the camden haven.
  4. With all this bad luck you'll be due for some good luck soon. Keep fishing.
  5. Yeh I know that spot mate, just unsure if there is a less dicey spot to redirect people to when the sea is big.
  6. Is there a more sheltered rock ledge somewhere near hill 60? Part of it must be the day trippers coming down from Sydney for the day and deciding to give it a go despite bad conditions because they have gone to so much effort.
  7. Hard to beat fishing with metals off the beach or rocks and on the days the fish aren't there and you catch nothing you don't go home stinking like bait. The mrs likes that the most. They are cost effective as well if you are able to fish without loosing them. Throw a few metal vibes in the tackle box and give them a go as well, its amazing what will bite on them.
  8. Nice work fellas. It is nice to get a break in weather/swell, it's been a tough summer so far.
  9. At that size it'd be pretty well uncatchable! The population there must be healthy as if the the big dog is that big.
  10. Hey Stevo-o, I appreciate your view point there mate, I really do. Most who oppose fossil fuels consume more than their fair share. I personally don't advocate flicking a switch and turning off all fossil fuels overnight, as I mentioned earlier our entire economy is built around mining and to a lesser extent agriculture. However, I believe we have to transition to renewable methods of energy production and more sustainable methods of agriculture and that we need to speed up the timeframe attached to this. There are lots of interesting developments here such as a seaweed based cattle feed product that neutralizes the methane they produce, continual improvements in PV solar panels cost and efficiency, solar/hydro projects to produce electricity at night. We export the majoirty of our coal and gas, we do not need more new coal and gas projects. Especially ones that threaten the health of our oceans. Its not something to be done over night but we cant throw our hands in the air, give up and continue digging up limited supplies of fossil fuel to power our lives. Thanks mate!
  11. Short term yes, long term no. One mistake and the cost of the environmental damage will well and truly dwarf the mining royalties and destroy the potential for future tourism incomes. Australia's economy is the definition of unsustainable. We dig up finite supplies of rocks and gasses and trade them for everything else.
  12. Not a problem, thanks for sharing. I've been spreading it round as much as I can.
  13. But do you wear your crocs sports mode or leisure mode?
  14. I personally do not support bans at all, our governments are power hungry enough these days using any excuse to squash our freedoms. However this is nuts and these morons families are the ones who pay the price for their stupidity, the swell conditions today are so far beyond suitable for hill 60. Blind freddy could have watched the conditions for 2 minutes today and known not to fish there.
  15. Is there a online pertition we can sign? Or a way to jump on the one you have emailed. EDIT: found the link and have emailed. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Go back out with 6lb line and have another go, awesome fun!
  17. Not a bad spot this one, a Powerful Owl. These bad boys eat possums and gliders, biggest owl in Aus, up to 2.2kg and 1.5m wingspan.
  18. Now that's a flash looking punt! Where did you get the bimini tent? Also, can someone educate me on what the proper name is? Obviously not bimini tent haha.
  19. I'd be finding a metal lure around the same size and colour and have a blast catching the Tailor.
  20. Unreal...bit better than the usual baby bream in the river. Must be an abundance of bait around there!
  21. I know a fella who works for a company that sells information to charities and companies looking to do a mail out, produce call lists etc. Australian law is very muddy around collecting and selling your personal information. It is required that they disclose that they will sell or give your information to third parties but that can be buried in pages of fine print, be in the hidden away in policy pages on their website and there is no requirement to make it clear what they are doing. He always says give fake information if a company insists on having your details (where possible) and never take part in free giveaway competitions, raffles and simialr; they are "free" to enter as they are selling your information to people who will spam you relentlessly.
  22. Don't buy anything from Kogan then, they will email you several (up to 5) times every day. It put me off shopping there again, I wonder if the marketing gurus consider that.
  23. A couple snaps from work today. Yellow-tailed black cockatoo. A pair of them were digging grubs out of the black wattles. A few Botany Bay Diamond Weevils were crawling around. Good chance they were eating their grubs.
