  1. Just cut it in half 😛
  2. Well done Albert! Those EPs fight hard for their size and are a great challenge on light gear
  3. hey @AlbertW Having been in some of the comps this year, its pretty interesting to see what kind of lures some guys throw. Usually bigger lures resulting in bigger fish, the one thing you will notice is when you catch one up near or over 40cm is they fight very well on light line.
  4. @faker So did your leader snap at the braid to leader knot or down at the lure From what you have wrote above it looks like you may need to practice your knots? What knot do you use to tie braid to leader and to the lure?
  5. Thats a great Reddie @AlbertW , I am yet to catch one!
  6. looks like a inline spinner
  7. Yeah I know it was almost a blessing when they could get pigeons for the RATG in some of the sydney comps. My dogs breed club in VIC are talking about how the quail and duck seasons keep getting slimmer and harder for them each year
  8. I have the miravel which is basically a nasci with and upgrade. They are great reels, on the daiwa side, you cant go past a freams, or the infeet x as a good value for money reel
  9. Fantastic achievement @Pickles. Do you find Rosie retrieves better on the dummies, feather or fur? I know with some of the dogs after being trained on dummies they find it hard to keep a soft mouth on real game.
  10. Nice post @faker All of that harder winter fishing will start to pay off as the water warms up keep up the persistence
  11. Been interesting watching this chat. I am a panthers junior and panthers fan through and though. Incredible for a team to get 3 minor prems in 4 years inclusive of the covid season where they played in QLD. I cannot wait for the finals to come and hopeful for a 3 peat and the first club in over 20 years to do so, and the very first in the era of the salary cap! Go PANTHERS!!!
  12. Some nice looking fish there mate well done!!
  13. Well done, those working line labs just go so hard in retrieving trials. I still think a small dog looks way cooler and stylish doing it 😉. I love seeing Gun Dogs doing their thing and its great to see all the different breeds and how they work
  14. What about the bait keeper? fan or not a fan. I'd argue that there are some instances where you want your plastic to sit on the bottom, when imitating a worm or yabbie
  15. I have bought a heap of them for the lighter and smaller side of things. They are exceptional well thought out and make common sense, when I started fishing with jig heads I couldn't work out why TT ones were a different size when using light wire or heavy wire. The daiwa ones are the same size regardless of wire size. Im crossing my fingers for a hidden weight version in the future.
  16. Tempt jig head powder paints are what a lot used but I’d be keen to see how a pen goes
  17. The FG knot works for all leader sizes. Derek is bang on gradually load up the line to see if its tensioned right. Usually a break or snap off is down to user error when tieing on, practice makes perfect. I have used the FG on 6 lb braid down to 2lb FC leader, it works! If you are casting lures and looking for casting distance and getting the join knot through micro guides on a finesse rod the FG is the smallest knot if done right.
  18. I like it Big D! There are a lot of variety of soft plastics and hardbody lures on the market and it just keeps getting better, which is great as you can always try something different
  19. Mate thats a solid fish! Good to see the surface lure getting some action at this time of year
  20. There are lots of spots on the northern beaches and pittwater. You may need to get onto google maps and do some research. You can also use the search function on here to bring up some locations from fishing reports. Will you be lure fishing or bait fishing?
  21. Definitely agree that in general there needs to be more focus on women in sport. Our family has lots of netballers in it and they were scrambling to find coverage. One of the reasons I see the Matildas being in the spotlight as its the highest an Australian team has made it in the world cup and there also some factors that come into play such as poor resources previously for girls wanting to play soccer.
  22. So what you're saying is having the worlds best athletes compete in a competition that is selling out stadiums, and in fact being put on big screens in other sporting codes, hearing of how some of the matildas have come to be in the Australian team, watching great examples of what sport is and should be to all people Doesn't lift the profile of womens sport, what a fascinating and different view point you have there, can't say I agree with you there I'd also love to know where you get your fact from on viewership this article regarding the amount of people watching has a different viewpoint; https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-08-13/matildas-vs-france-most-watched-television-event-of-2023/102724272
  23. I agree here, even having a 2 game origin series for the women. There should have been a 3 game series like the men
  24. This has been an iconic moment in sport, period. The game against France was the most watched sporting event since Cathy Freemans run in the Final at the Sydney Olympics. The other thing that alot of other codes and sporting teams could learn from the watching the world cup and the matildas. They exemplify what a team is and are great rolemodels. I look forward to watching the progression in all kids sports they have greatly contributed too. Go Tillies!
