  1. Did any body else notice that the camera man discretly tried to position the camera ever so slightly to the opposite side of the person getting interviewed panning away from what was in the background... and no sooner than after just doing so....with a bit of deft manouvering Reel Game in the background just kept hanging in the frame....and because of that reason i found myself more intrigued in what was happening on board Reel Game..........to the point were i couldn't tell you what was said on the interview. Worth ten points that one boy's... Warnie...

    Insurance..?

Pel... in my regards i have made a claim towing just the trailer and the claim was made against the trailer and it involved just the one excess.... Finnadict...also because of the fact that i regularly fish tournaments and i am involved in a club situation were public liability coverage is a necessary pre requisite... therefore i opt with the NRMA who have a ten million public liability coverage which comes automatically along with the policy....as well as i have took the extra coverage option to $5,000.00 for theft from a lockup cabin....not enough there i know but something i guess if it happen's to go sour...would get me some compensation back... the premium is around $670 per annum with an agreed value of $140,00.00 split up between trailer, hull, and motor's Cheers Warnie..
  4. Matt... rather than edit... let me mention here that although not so much as required by law in regards to battery pack for excample and its everyday advantages aside.... were these types of equipment really excell are in the worst case scenario if for some reason lets say you had a total electrical failure and your one and only battery was to die, totally gone, finished......then with a bit of thought the jumpstarter could be utilised to run the motor a means for getting to or closer to home and at the very least you could operate the radio through the battery pack so you could at least use the radio for raising help.... Warnie
  5. Matt a duel battery set up if working offshore should be given serious consideration and inregards to a radar reflector it can be as simple as a square bit of tin foil say positioned up high (say on rigger) to help in aid for easier and and stronger radar contact by a boat that may in an event be trying to locate you and doubly so if you are a small glass boat..to mention one of a few reasons Warnie..
  6. Matt.. items that spring to mind.. Sea Anchor.....air horn or a whistle, first aid kit, reflective mirror advisable to carry a radar reflector on board of some sorts... throughly recommend carring a portable jumpstarter with you best bit of insurence money can buy.. Warnie...
  7. Anthony another common source of entry for water into the hull is via the bolts of the motor through the back transon.......again as allready said the cause... due to either perished or not correctly applied, or ........insufficent sealant. Cheers Warnie...

  11. Outfisher... If qaulity is what you are after and visibility is also your aim.. then put thought to "high impact Tournament made by Stren" this line comes in a high visible gold and is well up in the order of being one of the best lines on the market...and i am sure Tony could accomodate your requirements Cheers Warnie...
  12. hi all... Just thought i would mention that i have made arrangements to drop in to a mate of mine who took some video footage on that day and will have a look at what was taken, for he did make mention of dissapointment in the quality shot due to glare on the water from the angle of the afternoon sun and then will endevour to try and post some video footage, and pic's if forthcoming..... Like you, i am very keen to be able to see some footage ...i will see what i can arrange Cheers Warnie...
  13. Scon........... Absolutely!!!!!!!!! Warnie..
  14. Hi all...... Just to help put in perspective to the size of this great white that has been mentioned i thought i would mention a few things in regards to what was witnessed by those aboard Tantrum... When this shark was first seen surfing down the waves to the back of the boat the first expression given was 'OH MY GOD'.... and after casualy as you may.....accepting the offering's of the blue shark it was then teased further closer to the boat with the remaining stub of tail and rope that remained from that shark... were upon this giant then lifted its head and shoulders out from the the water were those onboard were able to pat this giant on the head....as this was all happening there were able gauge a few observations... against the known length of there own boat they were able to asertain its length to of a consevative 22 feet long...and approx 3,000 lbs in weight with a girth equal to a well known expression of like a V dove...... the teeth were around 50mm long and 60mm wide.... the spacing alone between the teeth was around 10-15mm the comment was made that the head felt that hard!!!!!!!!!!!!! that if you were to hit it with a sledgehammer it would only bounce off..... it all so displayed battle scars behind the dorsal not unlike those experianced after mating....who would want to get close and personal with him ( or her) defy's belief...... the shark remained swimming around the boat for approx 1 hour Truly a sight that a lot of us would of dearly loved to of witnessed first hand although admittably not from a trailerboat...this shark (presumably this shark) then paid visit to another boat sunday morning on the shelf directly in front of the heads sniffed around said hello to the terrified crew and then moved on.... if any shark is to be able to take the name of "JAWS'..... then you would all have to agree that this one sure sounds deserving of it.... Cheers Warnie...
  15. Bob... As you say the weather is shaping up good at this stage and with what's been reported and seen out there presently....i hope to see both the 15kg outfit's and the video working over time... here is a pic of a newbie last trip out with his first time on the rod .... hooked up to a mako this is the only pic as things got badly out of hand at this point shortly after.... with the fish winning it's freedom and the angler breathing a big sigh of relief.... check the clothing out you can tell it's not summer..... Cheers Warnie....
  16. Hi dale... just the way it seems to be at the moment i was out the day after your referring to and got plagued by mako's however another boat with us that laid down a trail in around about the same area that you did was getting stuck into 60kg fin....... hour and a half after setting the trail... Quite hit miss at present.... but what fish are around seem quite decent.. better luck next time.. Cheers Warnie...

  18. Hi Bob... Love to see you give that lure a run presently for it will have MAKO written all over it...... Warnie....
  19. Scon... in regards to the first thought.........sure !!!!!!!!!!!! if there around no reason why it wouldn't ,and for that matter quite a number of other species that prowl in that part of the ocean also.....ie striped marlin in regards to the second.....again no reason it wouldn't entice a tuna as to would a number of other likely canditates....the problem most likely would be there availability, as they say try and match the hatch what i mean by that would be try and use whatever bait fish was most prominent to the locality at the time as the tuna would be most likely drawn in the first place by there presence ....ie.. Slimey,cowanyoung....and especially sauries but this then would most likely involve employing the method's of your first thought..... Yes to your third question........but they are better and more practical alternatives.. those be my thoughts there scon.......and hope that is of a help to you.. Cheers Warnie...
  20. Nexus.. just out of curosity what sort of money would you be looking at ???????? and in regards to serious fishing out wide for me it would have to at least include a cabin with a hard top arrangement, clears and the like, just don't afford enough protection from the elements in my opinion and if serious fishing is to be your aim, then i assure you the elements would come into play... nice boat all the same... Cheers Warnie...
  21. Adam... Did you come across any makos at all???? we were a long way from the mountain yesterday and got a nice feed in the bargain to boot but got pestered by mako shark's that took a liking to any easy meal on offer on its way up we also sighted one lone sizeable y/fin that was rounding up some bait on the surface early on and am glad to hear that you got a frostfish as we observed what we thought were schools of frostfish on the sounder sitting at around the 200mtr mark but wern't quite sure but see it as no co-incidence in with the amount of mako's sniffing around.. Cheers Warnie...
  22. Bryon.. A shame that a jewfish didn't turn up to the party. but by the sounds of things a most enjoyable time spent on the water with mates all the same.. just a prelude to the hairtail night were hopefully the fishing will turn around for you .....and you end up braining them.... Cheers Warnie...
  23. adznapper... go into the local servo and buy yourself a red beach ball and next time sammy the seal turns up.... toss that to him...and with him being busy swimming around and balancing it on the end of his nose he will leave you well enough alone at least long enough to pull a few fish onboard.... and if not he sure will keep you all entertained for a few hours.... Try it it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers Warnie
  24. In fairness to the pro.......he has not sought any publicity. and it sounds like he has shunned attempts of interveiws by the media i can't see any reason to doubt what he has said... Warnie...
  25. Alex.. Running out saturday morning with all guns blazing as you put it..... will be my method of operandi there will be a briefing friday night but unfortunently i doubt if i will be able to get there at this stage... iv'e got 200kg of burly to be punching through the pot so i hope to be seeing something swim up the trail to the back of the boat....after all it should make it all the way from here to JB...... going to take a camera with me this year and see if i can counjer up some action shots... maybe even some underwater shots if i can just convince some one to jump in... and yourself????? Warnie..
