  1. Sorry to hear of your experience Paul. The operator would have known of the conditions as they all get the conditions report over their radio's. When fishing outside there are more days on the rough side. A lot of people go on charter boats & think it will be like they see on fishing shows. If only they knew how many days it took to shoot that calm looking trip! 30% of my trips outside will see at least one of my crew turning green & that includes myself. They did take you out & used fuel, paid crew wages etc. but you should have been given a discount or the offer of going on another trip at a heavily discounted price. Regards Jeff
  2. A tandem trailer & a tandem tow vechicle what a combination. No wonder theres no one trying to musle him out on the ramp. Regards Jeff
  3. Well done, some fisho's have fished for years and havn't caught one that big. Regards Jeff
  4. Some nice bream there Snag. The parramatta river sure must have changed since I tried it about 20years ago. The reports coming from raiders on bream, flathead & jewfish is unbelievable. If there wasn't photo's included in the post I'd think you all were on the funny stuff. Good to see our waterways are getting back to productive fishing haunts. Regards Jeff
  5. Nice one on the maiden voyage. Good looking bertie. Regards Jeff
  6. Theres some good advise from the raiders. We fished the vines a couple of weeks ago & there was 2 pros trawling from the wreck towards the vines. We watched them follower each other then go 2 abreast for the 3 hours we were there, theres no wonder theres not many fish around. You have to fish where they can't & there is still plenty of those spots around. Unfortuantly the ones that know these spots are not likely to devulge there wareabouts easily, its up to you to find them. SORRY Regards Jeff
  7. Top read Matt. I've always wanted to try fly fishing, I've had 2 fly rods & reels in the shed for about 15years & never even spooled them. Ar-well maybe sometime in the next 15years I'll get around to it. Regareds Jeff
  8. Top one boy's. It looks like something has had a bite out of that bream before or is it just the picture. Regards Jeff
  9. We fished there a few months ago & it was a nightmare! Trying to match marker numbers with the numbers given on the maps was bu-l-hit. Even when we right beside the marker it was hard to tell which one on the map it was. Then theres the rule that you can not cross restricted areas with your lines rigged up, you have to derig all lines or face huge fines. For us it wasn't worth the trip & won't be going back. Lets hope this doesn't happen around here. Regards Jeff
  10. The picture of the bass & the waterway in front of the canoe say's it all. Regards Jeff
  11. Have a good one Nathan, that thumper king isn't far away. Regards Jeff
  12. Thats a nice feed, theres a lot of bream coming in at the moment. As for the rat, I think 9 out of 10 being caught are under size, but that means it won't be long & all these will be in the high 60cm mark. Regards Jeff
  13. That would have to be regarded as a G.T. wouldn't it? I've never seen one that big taken inshore in NSW before. Regards Jeff
  14. Hell they will sell anything in fish shops now. A wrasse is a by catch like cut loose said. Long reef is crawling with them. If you want wrasse just go out there & you will catch heaps of them. Theres no special rig for them as they will bite on just about any bait however it's presented. Regards Jeff
  15. Hi raiders, the grand kids wanted to try salt water fishing after their bass & perch success. Took them to Roseville where they caught their first bream. I think their hooked. Regards Jeff
  16. Top one Zac thats one nice looking muddie. It's always good to hear of fisho's using their talents to land a feed. Regards Jeff
  17. They don't want to cut up things in the name of science so develop see through frogs & gold fish. WHAT ABOUT THE WHALES? I think their just bloody hypocrites. Regards Jeff
  18. Hi Raiders, I've been waiting for one of my crew to email me some pic's from Tuesdays outing so I can post, still waiting Neil! We put in at Roseville, where we ran into 2 boat crews that where fishraiders & recognised my boat from our log on picture & introduced themselves. We rigged 2 small divers & trolled around balmoral for 2 salmon, !x48cm & the other 53cm. They put up a great display launching themselves clear of the water numerious times. Then we trolled the navy dock & came up with 1 rat of 61cm. All these fish were caught on a baitcaster spooled with 4kg line. Numerious throwbacks. We then caught a flatty of 43cm & a leather jacket 28cm. on prawns. When & if Neil decides to email the snaps I will add to this post. All the best for 2010. Regards Jeff
  19. Top lizard mate. They sure look awesom coming up. Beats watching the box. Regards Jeff
  20. Great to see there is still some big ones left, the ones we have caught over the last few weeks have been half that size. Regards Jeff
  21. Hi jewgaffer, Sorry to hear about Shirl I hope every thing comes right soon. I think that there would be plenty of raiders would jump at the chance to be part of your crew. I often put in at brooklyn & if your there & need a hand launching or retreiving your boat, then me & my boys would not hesitate to help out. Heres hoping that your recovery is quick & you get rid of the pain. All the best for 2010. Regards Jeff
  22. Their not poisonous & nor do they sting. However theres always a chance that there is a couple of bad species floating around with them so just don't touch them. Regards Jeff
  23. Nice king mate. A good fight always make the whole episode worth while. Regards Jeff
  24. Hi Jewgaffer, We get a lot of our rain from your way. I have been on my property for 18years & only twice have we been close to running out of water. I have a 25,000gal tank & a 26,000gal tank & we were down to about 1000gal before Christmas. Checked the tanks today & we would have about 40,000gal combined. This would give us enought water for about 3months without rain. The rain has put a dampner on my fishing plans, however we sure needed the rain. Were going fishing tomorrow, doesn't matter what. The boats hooked up, the bait & gear is in, the alarm is set. The camera is aboard, here's hoping I will be able to post a good outing. Regards Jeff
