  4. Hodgey, it was a crab fly that i tied up the other afternoon. I used a little resin to get the weight just perfect so that it had a slow sink but could be worked on the bottom aswell. The fly is actualy in its gob in the photo. Also Greg i have noticed that the Bream at night dont get that small, all around the 800g-1kg mark. Thanks for the tips too i will try the scent i havnt really paid too much attention to it. Camo
  5. I know Stylo, Holy crap hey! You want to have a flick when its up like that next, i rekon that white wash will produce some great fish. If not you could get a kick out of 200mph flying kelp!
  6. HERES THE BREAKWALL HERE! BIG SURF........ MAY 1960
  7. Hey Guys, Another lonely Bream to add to the "dark hours" collection. This was that kind of fight which everything happened within split seconds. Line was a bit loose upon retreive then smack! A good 5 min fight she was grounded.
  8. Hey All, My name is Cam, i am 20. I live in Albion Park (South Coast/Illawarra/Wollongong). I was born married to fishing and have been faithful ever since. I am a lure addict and enjoy the plastics & hardbodys. My favorites are Jewies on plastics and Bass. I love poppering for estuarine species as well (Bream, whiting esp) I work 6 days a week and fish one day and 7 nights a week. I work 2 jobs one for a Tackle & Outdoors store (since i was 12) and the other is a rep for a bearing & power transmission company (3 years). I have no kids and up until 3 weeks ago i had a missus for 4 years . I did my HSC and am a 3/4 motor mechanic (got burnt by employees so didn't finish) I also must add i love the odd story and one day hope to be a freelance journalist/photographer for an outdoors/fishing magazine and maybe even get into marine biology. I grab a rod every chance i have and i have made permanent room in my car for 2 rods. I love great company and a good laugh and will happily gas bag with any age of person. Mmmmm i must say i also love fish raider and the people. Great bunch of ladies & lads here. My favorite fishing partners are my dad and my mates and i have 2 sisters (18 & 14) and a brother (8). FISHING & LOVING IT!!
  9. What does it taste like? Is it good enough to take the risk?

Pretty Lethal Stuff ****SORRY GUYS SHOULD HAVE STRESSED THAT THESE FISH A LETHAL TO EAT AND EVEN IF COOKED BY A PROFESSIONAL CHEF WHO IS HIGHLY TRAINED THERE IS A RISK YOU COULD BE POISIONED AND IT MIGHT BE FATAL**** SEE MORE
  11. Solid fish there mate. Well done, its great to land anyfish on SP let alone a big lizard like that TOPS!!
  12. Its the Eastern breakwall of Port Kembla Harbour. Its open to the public (usually) Its exactly 1km walk to the end. Although it does offer a pretty diverse fishing environment sand on one side reef on the other and its 25-30m deep on the high tide. My last visit was December last year where i was using live squid i was catching and getting small rat kings on light gear. The place is usually packed and you often see guys taking their home made gold buggy with the rod holders and bag on it. Guys ride bikes out there too. If you head south of the Breakwall and then to the rocks on the left there's a nice ledge called battery point (the name derives from the old battery terminals which were used up until around the 1950's) This ledge isn't all that deep but provides a safe very productive spot to catch anything from snapper to bream and big drummer. I usually flick plastics there but often i will berley with pellets & oil and fish royal reds with no weight. Cheers Cam
  13. Heres an idea of how to keep those birds away when cubing outside.
  14. Erwin thats sounds awsome and you extracted some great fish too. Havnt been connected to a Threadfin yet. Mmmmmm muddies are tops, especially cooked on the fire when your out in the scrub. I remember i caught one on a hand line a few years back and it chopped my thong (shoe that is ) completely in half like a knife thru butter. Dont they have strong winds up there this time of year? I heard it can blow for 3 months straight? Cheers Cam
  15. Give Ron Simpson at Simo's Afloat a call. He's a local charter and a top bloke and catches fish too. Cam
  16. HOLY SMOKES, IMAGINE SWIMMING AND SEEING THAT!!! CATCHING A LIZARD THAT SIZE WOULD HONESTLY BRING A TEAR TO MY EYE! WELL DONE MATE
  17. Chris when i was a little fisherman (4-5years) and dad and I were at Forster i remember crying my eyes out at all the jewies which were 6ft plus jumping out of the water at baitfish. They hit the water like bricks, unfourtunalty dad didnt hook up on any because he was in awe! Also at forster dad remembers seeing an old bloke with a tinnie struggling a bit, dad walked over and saw the bloke had 2 jewies both the length of the boat head to tail dad says 6-7ft and easily 50kg plus! Then the old fella says to dad "Lost one bigger because i didnt have a gaff"!!!!
  18. Stylo, Mate when i used to use fireline i had the same problems. What i used to do was wind it onto another reel off the one its on, then after you have done that wind it onto another reel and then after that back onto your good reel you want to use. what this does it it swaps the fireline around so whats underneath is now on top. Its a old trik i use for when my fins braid becomes dirty on the first 40-50m (as the yellow does). I just swap it around and capiche'. Good luck Cam
  19. Hi guys pretty quiet weekend, Saturday night it was cold so i thought i would just go and peg a few lures around and keep active. So i headed down Kiama harbour to see for some Bream. After a few cast i came up tight on a decent fish. A few minutes later i landed this nice Bream. Not much in length but a solid fish. Was pretty quiet after that so home it was. I was happy with one fish. Cam
  20. Sorry to knock your reels Steve, The tierra are not a bad reel, but whats funny is Daiwa do offer basically the same reel with nearly the same/similar features for less dollars. If your after a reel of similar quality to the tierra for $60-80 less then a Daiwa CY would be the answer. They have air bail, CRBB (rust proof bearings), abs basically all the Daiwa jazz that the tierra has. The tierra is a little lighter and with the blue and silver colors they look great, daiwa claims the tierra is washable.....to be honest i don't wash my reels. I have seen to many tierras seize because people think washable is hose the shit out of it and then hang it back up. NZ if your chasing bang for your bucks then the CY is the answer ( i have 3 of them) and i swear by daiwas build quality and value for money. Shimano do offer some great gear such as the stradic, but the reel is a little over priced for whats on offer and even though some blokes are set in their ways and biased daiwa is leading the tackle market with great value for money. Overall i think that there is more reel for your dollars and would crank a daiwa before i do shimano if in doubt NZ go and visit the sponsors they will be happy to help. Good luck Cam
  21. Hodgey, i am pretty sure the camera will be the last thing you think of in years to come when you remember the day. Its great when everything falls into place. Weather, fish, company its all about memories and having a ball also extracting some good lizards & breambo's in the process! Well done on your bag of fish and its great you enjoyed the day with the old man also tops on a great report as well. See you in a couple of weeks Cam

    Tow Vehicles

Mate i would be in favor of the Navara. They are a pretty tough rig and provide excellent economy. The clutch is a little weak but other than that they a great bang for your bucks. Soft-on
  23. Hey Andrew, Wont be in Sussex but i will be up at the ABT at Gold Coast in August. Will you be there? Cam
